does anyone have any info on how to paint the GT rear drum brakes?? since i will be getting new rims i want to complete the look...any tips would be great esp which kind of paint to use and some instructions

yea, take the drum off. Clean it really well with brake clean. Then maybe clean it off with warm water to make sure the brake clean is off. Get some high heat paint. I use Duplicolor High Heat (1200 degrees). I suggest spraying it on, but some have sprayed some paint in a bowl and used a brush. Put at least 4 coats on or until it looks to your satisfaction. You want each coat to dry before you put the next one on, wait like 10-15 minutes.

Of course taking them off would be the best but I just taped mine up. I put a t shirt behind everything on my wheel well to prevent paint from getting everywhere. I also put another T shirt arount the rotor to cover it...

The best advice I can give is to make sure you sand everything you will be painting. I did not do it the first time and I got some flaking. Oh and 500 degree paint should do it. They have the duplicolor which is what I used also at Pep boys.

1. Use brake caliper cleaner spray
2. Let dry
3. Rinse with warm water and a hard brush, then rinse
4. Let dry and mask off
5. Paint

Is there anyway to remove the UNSIGHTLY rust/rust colored crap from my gts disc brakes?

it looks AWFUL.

Uhh.. sand your brakes? I wouldn't suggest it. Besides, it's not necessary if you clean them well before painting.

Diablo, just use a little soap and water then wipe with a clean towel. It'll come off, just takes a little elbow grease. If that doesn't work, try a little spray on brake cleaner.

I've used it myself (on another car) and it held up great. Looks good, too. It even comes with brake cleaner.. everything you need. Except, I would suggest getting a firm brush to scrub the brakes.. that's the only thing I don't think was included.
