early this week, a driver in a celica died killing 3 passengers in Burbank. While racing some guy who is infront of him, he cuts his lane and goes to the other where opposite direction traffic goes. this road is downhill. when he sees a car coming his way, he cuts back to his lane, looses control, swirves around and hits a tree. 4 of the people in the car died. i just cant believe wut this guy is done and i feel horrible. Such a stupid decision ruins 4 peoples lives. i used to see this guy often around the town and sometimes greeted him since he was a friend of my friends. his car was black with TRD kit and a Wings West front lip, big TRD sticker on the side of the car, black rims with polished lips. he had his car fixed up and lookin great, but i guess he had it fixed up for a bad reason. this should remind you guys not to drive crazy on the streets and keep the races on the tracks. i duno wut made this guy wanna race that bad to make such a stupid move and kill 3 other ppl with him in a matter of seconds for a stupid reason. dont let an excitement thatll last a second ruin ur life. drive safely and always think twice before you race on the streets
worthy advice.. "drive safely and always think twice before you race on the streets"
my new sig...
lol. thanks man. i feel honarable. as for the guy above saying how unfortunate for the 3 passengers. in a way, yes, in the other, no. if i know a guy that drives crazy, either i wont get a ride with him or else when he starts driving crazy, ill tell him to chill out. but yea, 3 ppl who didnt do much also died. 4 of them dying is sad, because dying because of a dumb decision you made is just sad. they were all under 21 and one of them was a girl
are you sure about the lawsuits? i mean, look at all the dumb things that people get sued for, but here, the parents of the passengers have a legit case.
im sure noone is getting sued. long story to explain. this is the second year in a row that someone i know dies in the burbank area. last year was an rsx, this year is a celica. hopefully there wont be any soon
I wonder what the new "anti-street racing" law is gonna be now
theres been too many racing deaths lately. I'm sure the cops will "crack down" on imports even worse now.
people need to wake the hell up and stop doing stupid stuff.
I think he wasnt racing at all. I bet he was passing where he shouldnt, saw the car coming, over corrected and hit the tree. not too many people "race" the guy in fron of them. they prolly threw that in because the car was an import.

I was thinking the same thing - the guy was probably passing over double yellows, however the result was still tragic...
I know a lot of people on this site street race, organized or not organized, just spur of the moment or going out looking for it. But when you take other peoples LIVES and get them involved thats just not right.
Even though you mess around on the street by yourself you are still liable for others on the road that might be injured by your actions.
Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?
someone tried to pass the car in front of them over the double yellow, and I was the one heading into him...he recovered, but I went into a ditch, and broke the razzi front lip (03), buddy club 2 splitter, and two of my APR canards from my front bumper...and I had them on a total of two days ...I was doing like 60 when I lost control trying to get out of the way, and the guy didn't even stop!...its sad that people died...but I seriously doubt anything other than lack of patients was involved
This was not "bad luck", it used to be called evolution and natural selection. Nowadays it called "bad luck" or poor planning or some other PC phrase. I am saddened that 3 others died in the natural selection process. I have been in the back of a car being driven by a maniac(my best friend). Its pretty scary and there isn't much you can do from the back seat besides scream and shut your eyes. The odds are a member of this board will join these four in the future. Many of us are at the age and have the attitude that we will live forever, and we are indestructable. The public roads are not playgrounds for our toys(cars) to be smashed into scrap by our own hands. I am not saying don't have fun, but leave the extreme stuff like racing for the track. Tracks have all kinds of nice things like tire barricades to slam into when you get into trouble. All you need is to join the SCCA and buy a roll bar and racing harness. Then you can have all the fun and excitement you can handle in a friendly and safe environment. There is a time and place for everything, and this guy should of been on a track and his passengers in the stands. If this melancholy thread saves one life, then it will have been a good day for the board. God bless you all!
I heard a story of a guy who raced his car agianst his buddy. He ended up killing his friend and two other people in an SUV. He found out that night that the other two people in the SUV was his mom and her friend. He wound up in jail for manslaughter and I'm pretty sure hes still there.
Now the dude's gotta live with the fact that he killed his mom. He says that is punishment enough, but I think he still needs to be behind bars for a while longer.
^^^^^ Damn!!! That has to be the worst feeling ever. Can you imagine knowing you killed your mom, her friend, and your best friend?! That sucks This whole thread is depressing

Very well put man.
