I was looking at the MWR website, and was eyeballing the greddy emanage control unit...I know the GTS guys have the Apexi PFC, but from what I remember reading, the Apexi PFC doesn't work with the GT...and the emanage does...I was wondering if you guys think it would be worth the $400...I'm gonna stay N/A and just thought that this might be a nice addition for the GT, since the Apexi PFC is such a nice addition to the GTS

I say go for it. Have any other mods done? If not, you may want to wait a little til you have more done, otherwise you will be spending a lot of time tuning after every mod you do. I would have got the emanage a long time ago, but ran into some money problems.

I know that they sell the PFC for the GT, but they have problems tuning it with the GT for some reason

as far as my mods go I have 11: 1 internals, CAI/ Exhaust...gonna get the DC header soon, and probably am gonna get the new catcams cams soon as well as head porting (gonna try to get it done at the same time)...and in about a year to year and a half I'm gonna replace the clutch and flywheel with the ACT/fidanza combo that is so popular

I was looking at the Emanage a long time ago as well, I think Dan and I even had a little conversation about it... anyway, then the PowerFC came along and I thought about doing that (2002 GT)

Now I might go back to the Greddy system if I can find someone to tune it in my area. I have:

TRD Exhaust
AEM gen2 Cold Air Intake
AEM Tru-Power Pulley
Hotshot Header

they had problems tuning it on one car, because of a problem with the guys car (which was Turboed), not the pfc itself

what the hell is different from power fc and e-management?
aren't they all same thing?
if not, what makes the power fc more better?

ahhh...I see...so it would work with the N/A guys...I emailed the guys over at MWR, and they said that with the PFC and the DC header they made 140 WHP eek wtf...I emailed him back about a couple of other things about it and will post the entire email when he responds...if they can get the PFC to work with the GT like you guy do with the GTS then I'm definitely in

it'll work for f/i also, the one guy they tried it on there was a problem with his car that did not allow the pfc to fuction properly, so they had to swtich to the emanage.

emanage is still a piggy back although a very good piggy back and has been proven to work on the celica's tricky ecu.

pfc is a complete ecu replacement.

Theres one for the 1zz and one for the 2zz. Separate units.

The 1zz makes peak power at 6600 rpm stock.

Im not sure what youre trying to do, but Ill explain how the PFC works. It allows you to tune the VVT to make max possible torque throughout the RPM range. Stock cams, aftermarket, whatever. Its going to be a big advantage over the emanage if youre going with cams.

Thanks,

I thought you guys had trouble getting the Power FC to Tune with the 1zz??? (celica GT)...please clear this up for me...and you mentioned the power FC being able to change the VVT-I...do you mean that you can adjust the VVT-I timing and make the cam duration more aggresive or something? I'm not talking about Lift (VVTL-I), as I don't have a GTS...I was gonna get cams that were rated like this:

duration 256/245
duration 220/213
maximum lift 10.30 / 9.25mm
lift at TDC 1.25 / 0.85mm
parts O.E.M
application Mech: sport (1zzFE)

my premise behind this is to have the same type of cam timing as the lift mecanism in the GTS, but lower in the rev Range because, as you know, the 1zz makes its power lower in the rev range rather than 6,000 rpms like the 2zz

please clear this up for me, and let me know what's up, so I buy the parts I can use from you guys...thanks for all your help ~Steve~

The emanage makes power, the Power FC will make more. Itll also give you the flexibility to rev higher if you decide to do cams in the future. We have a program that was done for the DC header, the car made 140whp.

The emanage does not change VVTi, but the Power FC does.

Subject: greddy emanage question

hey what's up...I love your site.and heard about you on everythingcelica.com...I drive a 2003 toyota celica GT, and have an AEM Intake and magnaflow exhaust...I'm probably gonna buy the DC sports header from you guys shortly, and was wondering if the greddy emanage package is really worth the money. I know some of the guys that have the Apexi PFC for the GTS, and swear by it...so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to check into the 1zz unit you guys offer (the emanage)...please email me back and let me know what's up...I'm also thinking about swapping out the 1zz cams for the wild cams that catcams came out with and was thinking that the greddy emanage would be the only way to avoid engine knock with the new cams (due to the VVT-I changing the cam duration, and the emanage ruling that out)...thanks in advance for all your help...you guys rock ~Steve Black~

yeah, seems like a full replacement ecu would be better than a piggyback anyway...

well, hell...if you can change the VVT with the PFC...then you can make the cam duration bigger (apparently)...so you wouldn't really need bigger cams...but instead you'd rather use the function that manipulates the VVT (or the people at MWR would), and tell them what duration you want the valve timing to be...that could be scary grin wtf...so yeah...I'm definitely in for this...especially since they made 140 whp with just the header and the PFC (which is more than norway made with I/H/E...hmmmm...
