Congrats on the new car, good to see your stuck with Toyota!

Interesting about the newer Camaro though, the Camaro Z28 out performs the Celica GTS and RSX Type-S on the track by a considerable amount.. http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/comparison/articles/47901/page020.html

Yeah, HA HA, I know what you mean about trusting your car. I bet it was quite sad saying goodbye at the garage too. I've thought a few times about moving on from the Celica, but its part of me now and I'd feel guilty selling it and letting someone else drive it. Its especially bad because like you I've had it from new.

I'm not starting up another arguement now rofl, but do you find the interior of the MR2 a lot more basic and less classy than the Celica? Its one of the things that put me off when I was looking at it. I know sports cars are meant to be more basic and bland because of weight (fuck! look inside the Elise) but I do feel they could have made more of an effort. Whereas the cockpit of the Celica surrounds you, you feel more like you're just looking at it in the MR2.

Another thing, what do you think of the Veilside kit for the MR2? Would you be tempted because in my opinion it looks amazing. Might be a bit extreme to go ripping bits off a 2004 car at the moment though happywink

Actually, I don't care much for the Veilside kit. I'm probably going to put on a DAMD kit or the TRD stage 1. I'm kind of undecided. There are so many kits for the Spyder.

I actually LOVE the Spyder interior. It's different from my celica...but has a sportier feel. It "fits" the Spyder...if that makes any sense.

u will love ur 2ZZ MRS i tells u!
there is a video of the 2ZZ MRS beat the 170hp AE86 on the mountain roads. and Turbo MRS can only barely keep up with the AE86..that's why i said i think 2ZZ swap is better~

anywho, have fun with the car either way~ it's a real nice car thumbsup

Why the hell didn't Toyota just make the Celica RWD? Making it FWD was the biggest mistake.

My Celica was 231 dollars every 6 months for full coverage insurance. My Spyder is 254 dollars every 6 months for full coverage. So, my Spyder costs me 23 dollars more every 6 months. I also have 2 points on my insurance. In another year after I drop the points, my insurance will drop some. I have all my insurance with State Farm.

I forgot to mention, you'll find that most MR-2 owners are rather anti-veilside. There are very few Spyder owners that like the Veilside kit. Not that anyone's opinion should influence what anyone else likes. It's just something I've noticed. To be honest, it's to "ricey" in appearance. The MR-2 is not meant to look ricey.

JUST AN OPINION.

Can't believe how much better feeling it is to have a RWD Mid-Engine vehicle. The control is like night and day. Full Sportivo kit installed...their sway bars are incredible...

I'm a little bit late in posting, but I was crusing the sites saw yours, really nice car!... thumbsup
