I just removed the grounding kit two days ago because my car has sold and will be leaving in a week (which was only consisted of two wires going from the neg batt terminal to: the frame and the engine) and ever since the car has been running very terribly. By that I mean totally bogging to the point that it has almost killed it. I cleaned the maf sensor according to the guide on this site, still no fix. I ran it many times in the last two days to try to allow the ecu to adjust, but still nothing. So I put the kit back in and now it runs perfect.
So basically for any grounding kit users, your car will now be too addicted to the grounding that it wont run without so don't expect to be removing the kit. spineyes

Btw, anyone tell me if they've done the same and Not had it happen.

^^^^ yeah, the only one I even came in contact with was the ground from the engine to right side (passenger) of the car on the frame, which I did not remove. all I removed was the two ground wires I installed. Everything was back to stock after that.

Hmm, then I dunno (didn't mean to insinuate you were less than intelligent in the above post ^_^ but I've forgotten silly things like that before); did you reset the ECU itself?

I really have no idea of the correct way to reset the ecu. I assumed disconnecting the batt for 30 sec or more would do that. then just letting it adjust to any changes confused

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and remove the ECU fuse, just in case smile But disconnecting the battery should do it. FOr more than 30 seconds..

There are more than just two engine bay grounding wires.

If you want to reset the ECU without undoing the battery, just pull the 15 AMP fuse from the main engine bay relay block for 30 seconds, and it'll be reset.

That way, the clock/stereo/etc will not be affected.

As for removing the grounding wires, reset the ECU because it's probably confused as to what's going on. Also, you might try looking at the battery, it might need a charge.

no, just pop the fuse and it will reset.
