Hello,
Well I think it is time for me to clean out the whole car. Soo...what do you guys use to clean the engine bay? My engine bay is very dirty. I need something that gives it a good shine.
Also, are there cheap mods to make the engine bay looks nicer? I was thinking about getting that oil cap thing from Ebay. You can get them for like $15 bucks shipped and it says TRD on them.

Put a Ziploc bag over the Intake and the distributor. Spray the engine bay with a hose. Spray Simple Green all over the entire bay (just try to avoid the alternator, everything else is sprayable). It it's really dirty, use a toothbrush to scrub the Simple Green around. Spray all the Simple Green and dirt off. It's easy. Once you get the dirt out, use a polish or something that's safe for plastic to make the engine covers look nice. That's basically it. As for eBay TRD parts, most of them are fake.

You don't need to use a pressure washer. A hose works just fine.

That is the only way? I do not mind wiping the parts and stuff. So the thing is called Simple Green?

Yeah. It's common household cleaner that you can buy at almost any store. I'm suprised you haven't ever heard of or used it before.

Hey Falkkor, you think that it would look nice if I was to get like grey? Trying to go for a black and silver color scheme.
I know that I will be painting my calipers black.
How long did it take you to do that?

Ahh, that reminds me. I purchase this bottle cleaner a while back made by Blue Magic. I just checked it out this morning and in the back it said "Engine" so yeah, I am going to use that good ol stuff.
But those Blue Magic product works really good. I have their product for wheels, and that always does the trick.
Thanks!

hey checlica, use this stuff called "Gunk Engine Degreaser" that stuff works really good and cleans the hell out of the motor. And when you use that stuff you would want to go to a lil corner do it yourself carwash and use there pressure wash to rinse. Just the "rinse" part. First you want to do this while the motor is "cool" such as not driving it all night and wake up in the morning and doing it. Spray the "Gunk" cleaner on the motor and let it sit for "15mins" then rinse the motor off completly and your done. ITs cheap easy and i have be using this stuff for years, even on my 97 camry and when i did my parents 2000 altima and my old 94 taurus wagon. Good luck mayne!
