Well, here's my new debate. I have a 2001 GT auto and have a ton of mods done to it, but let's face it, it's a GT auto. I am either considering tearing everything off of it and picking up a 2004 GTS and transfering all the mods that I can to it, OR...getting a new G35 6MT coupe. It's a tough call b/c I have a ton of money invested in the celi and can transfer most of it to the GTS like the rims, custom dash, blacked out tail lights, spoiler and stuff like that. But the G35 is sporting 280 hp stock, and Greddy offers a twin Turbo kit for it. Let the suggestions start flying, I want to reach a decision by the end of the week!!!

u going to lose big time on the sell of the celica gt auto so transfer mode to gts then sell it again or sell part for part and then buy the other car or keep the gts

I actually found a red GTS 6 spd here in houston for 14,200. The guy said he may be willing to trade car for car, and I'll just pay for the tax and title. I love the G35 but getting one new is gonna set me back like $35,000 minus the cash I get for the GT which isn't much. Mileage on the GTS is 39,000, I only have 30,000 on mine. My biggest killer is the $5500 sound system that I just put in the celi that I can move over to the GTS and not the G35.

The two cars aren't even in the same category.
G35 is way more expensive than a Celica, but it also has 100+ more HP.
The GTS is a nice car, but if you can afford a G35/350Z why bother

G35 if it's the sport coupe model, and I wouldn't necassarily go for a brand new GTS since you'll lose money on depreciation if you would be willing to trade your car again so soon.
The GT isn't that bad, it's good for the track with it's better power to torque ratio (GTS isn't as beneficial at lower rpm on things like that) and I know of a guy who has a GTS and it's auto and he does really good on the track, and as far as I know the only Performance mods he has is Trial header and exhaust and he ate a couple of Porsches the other weekend at the track. Point being, an auto can still hold it's own and on a GT that is better on lower rpm than a GTS then your car still has good potential.. but manual is so much more fun.

I just blue booked my car "as is" and it says $12,655 for private sale and $9030 trade in. I understand they are totally different. I would just hate to loose all the aftermarket accessories I already spent the cash on. But the G35 is sooo sweet!

hmm get the celi stick =) gt or gts...
Huge trunk space, and insurance and probably cheaper parts.

I say that you got for a stick shift Celica. I used to drive an Auto GT and recently purchased a 6 speed GTS. I love the GTS a lot!!

My choice would be the G35. I love the Celi, but sometimes I just want something different. G35 my vote.
Everybody from Ecelica ROCKS!!!

sh*t thanx 295hp on the new G35!! That's some good news. I just wonder what the new body style is gonna look like. Hopefully for the better, although it looks sweet as is.

if your not sure dont do anything, the last thing you wanna do is get a car then regret it. plus when you mod a car you always lose money, just something you have to accept, youll just have to decide which car you would be most happy with

yeah, I think I'm gonna wait for the '05 G35. I want to see what kind of body refinement they are going to do to it. It looks sweet now, but with an additional 15 HP, it's even sweeter. Oh yeah, POO on american cars. I looked at the top 10 cars on MSN autos site and not a single one is american made. I'll stick with

I say that you get another Celica. Just find the best GTS for your buck, that's my IMO.
I went from a GT Auto to a GTS 6 Speed and it has been a great journey.

if you want style and power go for the Fair Lady, the skyline is okay but the 350 touring handles heavenly

i'd say if you have money g35. But that twin Turbo is going to cost you 6g's. But g35 is better for the long run. Its rare to see G35 fixed up But you'll have more fun with GTS.
