Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior why duz everybody hate on DA turbo?

ok i hear most comments like "don't get da, get sf" or "da's wack" or.."da's suck" you get my point, their comments have no facts to back it up...these people don't even have a da Turbo on their car, and their comments don't really make sense...i only know of one person who has a DA Turbo on his gt, and he seems to like it a lot..i myself dunno anything about their Turbos..but my question is what is the real reason people dislike it so much? is it b/c they don't give us dyno charts that prove the gain?..that duzen't necesarily mean their Turbo totally sux rite?

the reason is because people have paid david draper over a year ago for the Turbo and still havent received it...

thats 1 year of having about 4000 of your dollars in some guys hands...

wowzers...i didn't know that...and their website says it's done and ready to ship...i did not know people already payed him in advance..did he used to work at west covina toyota? because i spoke with him (name tag said "david") once and actually saw a Turboed gt at the dealer..no way THAT coulda been the da Turbo that they were workin on.

there is only 1 maybe 2 now people with the DA Turbo kit. DD IMO is scammin everyone and may end up refunding a lot of money. my teamate already pulled out after 1 yr of promises and no Turbo.

fact - DA Turbo stage 1.5 (DD still hasnt given him the full stage 2 kit he paid for) ran 14.0 with a 2.0 60'

SF Turbo GT stage 1 ran 13's at LACR which is 2800 ft elevation

also try to get a dyno printout from a DA Turbo kit. last I heard theres still never been one released.

that kit is a joke IMO he shoulda never started the project if he couldnt deliver.

I wonder how much money he lost on that whole deal, too. You would think he would have a more vested interest in it considering all the money and time he put into it.

Damn! Turbo was going to be my Next mod and I was planning to get the DA Turbo kit. Thank god I read this post 1st or I wouldve gotten played again. Where can I get the SF Turbo kit? Thanks again guys|

LOL we have GT stage 1 kits on stock and couple of happy costumers. We also have a GT stage2 kit in the states. We just finishing the GTS st2 kit in a week with tons of mods.
We are well known on the other celica forum in the forced induction thread. I just dont post those here cos its all together with other stuff.

yup, the c2 kits have been putting down some good #'s.

you should post info about your tranny kit also when its finished. I'm curious how well the straight gears are gonna turn out. the pics looked awesome.

is your tranny kit just an increase in strength or what? specifics would be nice

The tranny has a fully built inside, but uses the stock housing! It has straight gears from 1-4, 1st and 2nd is somewhat longer, also the 6th is longer for serius top speed and better gas milage. Becouse of the striaght gears, and stronger materials used, it can hold a lot more torque then the stock tranny, it has the sound of a race car transmition, you can change gears whitout the clutch.
The first tranny also had torsen type LSD.

I will update you whit videos, pricing, and availabilty soon One thing for sure, it will be for order only, you have to wait at least 1-2 mouths for every gearset!
So if you got a blown tranny let me know asap!
