^^^think about it its been around as long as camery sales have been obviously stronger for camery but they stopped the supra if they stop celicas then wuts the sporty car??? the matrix please looks like a van so i think next gen is coming and just how they barely advertise the current 7th gen they obviously wouldnt blurt out a 8th gen to cause an extreme surprise in the market that will probably cause many to trade in for a 8th gen just my opinion

Despite the looks of the matrix (i agree with silverceli21) it sells well, especially to the youth market. Toyota also has the celica, mr2, and now scion's cars (esp. the tC). many "analysts" (i use the term loosely) think that toyota will get rid of at least one if not two sports cars, namely the celica and the mr2, simply because the cars would eat into each other's profits and toyota would lose money. let's face it - celicas aren't rolling off the lots the way the Scions are now. I see maybe one celica on the street for every three scions i see, and they just started selling months ago. Toyota's website raves on about 2005 models for almost every car except the celica and mr2. As much as i would love a 250hp engine w/turbo and the continuation of the celica dynasty, things just aren't looking good right now.

celica is may or may not be going, but word is that the MRS is going to go next year because of the bigger and beefier Lotus Elise that Toyota is bring over.

2005 celi won't reach the market this year, wait another year for consumer market demands, with the realease of the new scion TC , toyota will wait for popular demand...

Toyota never lets its secrets out so no one knows for sure. I have kept quite but this is stupid. There are rumors of no changes, 250hp V6, 300+hp, and the discontinuation. Like I said with Toyota no one knows for sure. True the Celica dont sell much but that is Toyota's fault. How many Celica commercials have you seen on t.v. I have seen one, shown one time. With advertising the Celica will sell.

Why would they discontinue the Celica? They just gave it the new action package.

better off to discontinue it than to let the celica name be put on some horrid and heavy looking car that toyota has rendered as a concept for the 8th gen...IMHO
