Hey whats up everyone, i have one more question. I bought my car used as some of you may know, and i am not sure if the exhaust that is on my car now is stock or not...Wonderin if yall could help me out. I have a few pics.. If it is stock, is it possible to make it louder? I think my car is pretty quiet. I dont know if stock exhaust have silencers or what. Thanks a lot i appreciate it!
yea its stock you can have the resonator cut off to make a lil more noise but it won't be much
hey thats a 20 minute phone call "if i have seen farther it is by standing on the shoulders of giants" derek: do you know that non dairy cream is flamable Jennie: ...derek..what did you do
Ok...not sure how to cut the resonater off , but eventually im thinking of going with a new exhaust system. Im thinkin of goin with the TRD exhaust and having the dealer install it to keep it under warranty or perhaps another one such as Tanabe Suggestions?
i have the tanabe super hyper medalion and love it not too loud but still loud enough to be heard take it to a muffler place i did mine at midas tellt hem you want the resonater removed its 60$ if you look under your car from the passenger side you'll see a huge 3 foot canister on the exhaust pipe right under the driver seat thats the resonator on weight alone its worth it to drop it lol

I don't think you'll be able to cut off the resonator yourself...mabye? I'd recommend the TRD exhaust, which is what I have. You'll hear good things about either the TRD or Tanabe so it just comes down to what look you want and the sound
- TRD nice looking tip, not too loud but a nicer sound that stock
-TSRM umm differnt looking tip cause of the cannister, not my fave look, louder sound ,etc
If you get the TRD just for the warranty it's not worth it cause it's just a muffler and it's a used car anyways.
oh and the tshm doesn't have the big canister like the tsrm

Ok...im a newbie when it comes to knowing anything about bodyshops. Almost every mod i have done to my car i have done myself. I am thinking of getting a Tanabe exhaust system. The question is, is when i go to the bodyshop should i just ask them if they carry and could install a Tanabe exhaust system? Or should i buy the exhaust and then bring it to the bodyshop and ask them if they could install it? Which tanabe exhuast do you guys recommend..theres a few of them? Also, about how much do you guys think it will end up costing me for a bodyshop to install the Tanabe exhaust system? Thanks alot..i appreciate any suggestions and ideas
Get your exhaust the cheapest way possible. Call some of your shops and get prices, then look on the net as well because there are some great prices out there. I am so not an expert on Tanabe exhausts but the TSRM (Super Racing Medallion) is the most common Tanabe exhaust on this site, there's also the Tanabe Hyper medallion exhaust and the Tanabe Ultra medallion exhaust (people correct me if I'm wrong) I know the Hyper medallion is more quiet than the TSRM and the TUM is made of Titanium so it's lighter...V3N0M on this site has one, PM him for info on that. My dealer installed my TRD exhaust in about half an hour...any bolt on exhaust shouldn't take too long but be careful. Some of my local shops were quoting 2-3 hours install for my exhaust Mmmkay.
Alright thanks a lot Stephen! How much did the install cost from the dealer? Now that i compared prices on both the TSRM and the TRD exhaust, they seem to be around the same price range so i may end up going with TRD.
Yah, the price is really similar. That's why it just comes down to which you prefer. i paid my dealer like 40 dollars or somethin. A lot of people on this site will say do it yourself but if you don't have a jack and some stands don't even try.
i like the TSRM just for the louder sound. But trd is good too. You cant really fo wrong. I know most muffler places charge between 60-80 dollars and hour service charge. It shouldn't take any longer than an hour so your lookin at 60-80. Also i would just buy the exhaust you want off the internet then look for a shop to do it. It is a pretty simple install so really any bodyshop could do it.
Ok guys, im going with a TSRM exhaust system...That, however, is the only mod i will have done to the engine. Do you guys think it is safe? I really like the sound that comes from it. I prefer not to put the silencer, but i dont know if cops will be over me left and right if i dont.
