Is this Turbo like the DA sports Turbo, as in it won't work with an aftermarket Intake? Do you need to stock air box to run the Turbo or can you use an aftermarket Turbo?

If I'm not mistaken, most Turbo kits than can't utilize an aftermarket Intake OR the stock one usually come with their own Intake. Have you checked out Stafford's website yet?

The SF kit comes with its own Intake system.

I have a question about the SF kit. They reached 250 hp boosting 8 psi. I wonder what the Celica could get to boosting a higher psi. Like 12 or 14 psi. Then know Mustang GT around here would mess with me. thumbsup

boosting higher than 8 psi on stock internals will kill your crower rods and/or pistons. run 6 psi for daily use, you can boost 8 psi sometimes.

running 8 psi or higher for constant uses requires you to lower compression

it can be run daily at 8-9 psi IMO. on stock internals. we took a celica half dead from an incident with XS kit, installed the SF kit + power fc and made 277 whp and 204 wtq on 9 lbs of boost smile we then tuned it down to 241 for daily driving @ 9 lbs of boost.

it all depends on how you do it.

so what are the actual gains in terms of top speed and 0-60mph and 0-100mph? with 277 whp will you go beyond the stock celica topspeed or will you just get to the original topspeed faster?

when he had 200 whp untuned still on the way to the dyno I could take him. I had 172 whp and weight reduction. he had full interior.

when he had 241 whp, leaving the dyno, he would just walk all over me. it wasnt even close.

at the 277 he never ran so we dont know his stats from that. he is currently building the motor so we'll never know. lol

no...Viper's are insane...I've driven 2, and the only thing that will come close as far as a tuned car is a single Turbo converted supra (over on the supra forums they go back and forth with vipers...but its usually pretty close, and some of the single Turbo boys even take the vipers...Vipers have 450 + HP...and with an 8.0L V10, they don't have to wait until they are higher in the rev range to start pulling like a maniac...I'll see if I can find the video, but I saw a video of a viper chirp the tires on the interstate at like 90!!!! and then he was just gone!!!! they have a shifter that's damn near baseball sized too...and so much torque, that when you get on it its like driving a bar of soap...so yeah...the SF Turbo celi taking a viper is a load of complete garbage rofl

My dad's friend said a Turbo'd Celica was neck and neck wiht him (He has a 2002 Viper RT10). I'm sure the Celica was tuned to the max and was running at a higher PSI.

^^ not hapening. perhaps he should learn where the gas pedal is in the viper.

highest HP celica that would have a chance would be a guy in flordia running a 3sgte swap and pushing 500 WHP. it is not driven on the street much and is primarily a show car.

theres only a handfull of built Turbo guys pushin 300 whp with a Turbo in the gts. if my teamate finishes his motor and hits his goal he'll have around 400 whp from his and he might have a chance with a stock viper.

but overall Id say no.
