in order to get the orange gauges out, you need the neddle to come out. so with 2 spoons you put them under the neddle and you push down wards, push down were the pointing fingers are, be really careful with this step, and dont push really hard you mite break them.

now that the neddle is off peal out the orange gauge out, like in the picture, now you mite have a hard time because there is lil hooks, were the needles were before, the hooks are pointed out by the pointing fingers, it should not be hard just pull the gauge down a lil to get it off the hooks

place the LED were the old one use 2 be at, remember blue goes the same way as the stock LED was, red needs to go on the oposite way as stock, now with the silver solder cut a peace of it off, maybe about 4 inches, trust me it burns up easy, now place the silver solder were you want for it to melt, and then with the tip of the pen pouch it and bam ur done. dont put 2 much of it a few lil drops will be good
here is a picture for you to get an idea of wat i just said

the reason y is because you need to recalibrate ur needles, here is how i did it. go to the car and try to place ur needles at 0 RPM and 0 MPH, now plug the white harnes first and ur needles will jump, let it sit there for 10 to 15 seconds then connect the blue one, if ur needles are off just keep trying to take them out and put them back on, now you dont need to push them all the way in just push it in enough so it wont fall, keep doing this till ur done you dont want ur rpm and mph to be off. specially the rpm you dont wanna blow ur engine, now this mite take a lot of time but with pations it will be okay. and if nothing work, wile the car is on take out the needle and put it in, it mite help just try wat ever you can, you will get it some how, if you need more help PM. thats all ya here is a more detailed instalation guide to RJ autoworks gauges
hope i make it to the install guide on the site thumbsup

Calibrating the needles is easy, you just take them past max, like push rpms above red line, it will fall back down, same for mph

what's the chance on messing up on this install?? I have the LED's, but I have no soldering experience. Even though your guide is VERY helpful, what's the chance of messing up my gauges?? (messed up gauges = lights don't work, mph/rpm goes crazy, burn something out, pretty much just f*ck up in general)

What do you mean the red needs to go on the opposite way as stock? Do you mean the polarity on the LEDs is different? I want to do this mod to my recently-purchased 2000 Celica, but want to know what I'm doing before I get headstrong into it all. Otherwise the instructions are great!

Do you have a part number for those LEDs? I've never seen LEDs like that confused, I'm more familiar what what you find at RadioShack or DigiKey. Also, the part number doesn't do me good without the place from which you bought them.

Or, as isaac hinted at in another install thread, can I use any LEDs (as found at DigiKey or RadioShack)?

Thanks thumbsup

Replace the needle, making sure it points to zero. Gently push the needle back on. Note: do not handle the needle by the arm. Hold it at the black plastic center while doing this.

Turn off the ignition. Wait 3 minutes and turn it back to ACC position.

Needle should move as the gauge calibrate itself and then fall back to zero.

If needle does not fall back to zero, carefully remove the needle and repeat this procedure again until needle show zero after calibration.

What if I want my needles to be a different color than the gauges? More specifically, what if I want blue gauge numbers and a red needle?
I haven't taken my gauge cluster apart to see what all is in there, so I may be able to figure it out in process, but I'd rather know ahead of time.

Anyone?

The RED LEDs from RJAUTOWORKS get aligned the same as the STOCK LEDs!!!!!

I just want a heads up for everyone that does this DIY install to know the RED LEDs do NOT get reversed as discussed earlier...they go on like all the other color LEDs!! I PROMISE!

Anyway, bitchin directions here. It really helped to have the big pics posted too!

I'll get pics of my set up on here after Christmas. Blue gauges, red LCD, red needles. I'm totally happy!
