I think the next few years will bring out some major changes in the auto industry. I think GM is talking about going to ALL hybrid propulsion for their big pickups; I think all the automakers will generally introduce hybrids, including "sporty" hybrids into their lineups fairly soon. Who knows, maybe there'll be a 200+hp hybrid Celica a few years from now.
For now, I'm sad to see the Celica go out of production, but really happy I got an '04 GTS.

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20942no one here is really bashing the tC... Celica owners just have more of a passion for the sporty compact car look - and less for a vehicle that looks like a sedan. Everyone has their own opinion of vehicles they prefer to drive - and this is why SCION drivers choose the SCION over anything else out there on the market - they love the cars they own... heck, most people love the cars they own, even Celica owners. Simple as that. DJ_X_Trodinaire said it best, "let it be". Be optimistic - nobody likes a hater

The Scion tC actually looks VERY nice! A silver tC drove right by me a few days ago. It looks awesome in person! And, it's pretty affordable.
I want a Nissan Nismo 350Z!

Hmmm.
If they do make an '05 Celi (which they are it looks like) and they have them on the showroom floors no later than early september... I might be able to get one of those... since my car isn't even going to be ready to sell until mid-august.
Last year Celi ever made. That'd be tempting.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

soooooo why exactly is toyota stupid for discontinuing the two cars that have sold like crap and making new cars that are selling like hotcakes? you may not like them, but if others didn't, they wouldn't be selling so well
you call it stupidity, they call it business and i dont blame them - you dont keep cars that sell horribly just to satisfy the minority that DOES like them
as for me, im keeping my celica till they pry my cold dead fingers off the steering wheel

OK!...if i understand this correctly!...And i quote... "Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today announced its plans to discontinue sales of the Celica and MR2 sports cars by the end of the 2005 model year." So they are producing celica's still until the end of 2005!...is it the still the 7th generation model or the 8th generation model So can i still order a specific celica still?
