oh your just changing your steering wheel ... the way I read it, is that your were modifing the sotck one Yeah any bodyshop would probably do that ... you'll just lose your airbag. Personally I don't like aftermarket steering wheels...they just don't look right

I like them...but you do lose your air bag and I don't think that's very safe to do at all.

Airbags are important. Don't lose them. If you must, toyota sells color cordinated package that have two-tone steering wheels. You retain your stock airbag. It costs $400 last time i checked.

You can buy the TRD steering wheel. It can be color cordinated and it still has an airbag. Unfortunatly i cant find anywhere that has a pic or where they sell it...anybody know?

Thanks a bunch! But why does it say on their site that it is for offroad use only??? Is having one of these illegal?

actually pangit, you can crash your car and get those airbags deployed and that will be a good excuse to change your steering wheel

, why are you changing you steering wheel? um...he said he wanted a Momo like racing wheel. But we all said it's not safe since it doesn't have an airbag. Then Tony talked about those TRD ones that are 700 bucks that he could get. But that is just wayy too much.

airbags like all other safety features have their pros and cons...I think I would be better off without an airbag because when I drive my seat is all the way up b/c I am short so if I were that close and got in an accident and the airbag went off I could get seriously injured, so if you want the steering wheel get it...just always wear a seatbelt

Airbags in general only hurt people if your below a certain height. A lot of times though it saves a lot of damage to your face and truthfully is it worth having a cool steering wheel if it might mean your face could be scarred or have a crooked nose for the rest of your life?

I like the aftermarket steering wheels. I wanted one myself a while ago. But I would never be able to get one if it didn't have an airbag.

oh!! I got a story that may help you decide... you all know Team Dynamix Celica right? on the boards? Well...on the 16th...he totaled his car...yeppers. He said he flipped it a bunch of times and it was soo destroyed and he wasn't that hurt at all. AND his airbag DID NOT diploy! We are all lucky and thankful he is ok...I know I was. So if you got a Momo steering wheel...I would have aftermarket seats with it and the double straps like a rally racer holding me down. He didn't have any of that.

Well I'm more than kinda short I'm 5'1 if that...and I believe if I have my seat all the way forward and not leaning back than no matter what the airbag will hurt me, I don't drive like that, I lean back as far as I can, but I did sit like that once and there was less than a foot between me and the steering wheel, so I'd feel safer not having one and I always wear my seatbelt...but than again some people believe that everything is predestined so no matter what it is going to happen right?
