i didnt want to have a honda part on my celica, dont ask me why because the s2000 antenna does look cool, but i saw the custom install on shortening the antenna and i gave it a try, what do you guys think? still to long? too short?

hmm I think its aright, personally I like the motorized antenna aftermarket mod. You could still put it in, in an angled position (i did) but some people put it straight up.

and now worries of it getting stolen.

wow..it look kinda long..i would cut it in half..that's what i did too..it's better to have a sander machine available..cuz after you cut it you have to attach the lil ball on top of the atenna on, that mean you have to sand some of the antenna body down..mine is about 3 inch..

i did, but sanding sounds like a long process on metal, i used a dremel with a diamond cutting blade, whole install to 5 minutes, even attaching the ball, it took me longer to find the jb weld in my garage to make the little ball stay

yeah, i cut half of it off, i didnt want to got to short right off the bat, im gonna get used to this look for a week or two and then probably cut it shorter since thats the general consensus, and i also thought shorter might have been better right off the bat, it still a little long, but much better than before.

better, but still not good. You need an S2K antenna. It may be Honda, but it looks so much better.

did you guys notice any decrease in radio reception? do you get more static or have trouble tuning in to stations that used to be picked up better by your pre-cut antenna?

I cut mine off pretty short (About 3-4 inches long now), and yeah, I noticed a big difference in the range for the radio. Which at first, I took my antenna off b/c it looks dumb-didn't have ANY radio. Now I have a little bit of radio, but I never listen to it.

Black would look great because your car is black...

The S2000 antenna come black and it isn't all the expensive. I went to the Honda dealer and got it for $23, so I'm sure it will be on eBay for cheaper...

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10

I have the s2000 and looks much better than the stock antenna, i even have more reception. The s2000 antenna is cheap man. Instead of wasting time cutting, just get $20 and get the s2k antenna and your car will look nice.

toyota sells a shortened antenna for the celica! I think its a little bit smaller than the s2k antenna. Its metallic alloy looking. It looks great! tasty one of my next buys, im sick of the s2k antenna as well
