From what I have read, TWM is the shortest out of them all. Supposedly, with the design on the TWM, you cannot go any shorter than it.

The TRD is the tallest out of those 3 mentioned.

I myself just ordered the TWM after reading reviews and etc. Also, out of those 3, TWM is the least expensive and the shortest.

Got it from Invision Auto Imports. They are having a group buy for like $115 shipped. Great deal IMO.

The TRD unit replaces the whole shift assembly...the B&M and TWM just replace the shift rod and the bushings. I heard that TRD may not be compatible with some later model years because of the widened shift gates...I couldn't really get a straight answer anywhere so I just went with the TWM and I'm more than happy. Couldn't imagine it being any shorter than that.

this is true.

the b&m uses Spacers which actually 'pick up' the shifter assembly (optional). and the throws are shorter, i beleive. thumbsup

i got the twm shifter and i love it . never had a problem with it. at the beginning it was too hard to shift . it will take you a litlle bit of time to get used to it but it's worth every penny

in that pic...the b&m looks noticeably shorter..look at the pic on the top left..THAT is long.

in any case..you don't HAVE to use the Spacers that come with the b&m and that will drop it to just as low as twm and you will still get the advantage of super short throws thumbsup

Here is all the info in once place:

TRD: Replaces entire shift assembly in 2000-early 2001 6 speed GTS only. Can be used as a rod replacement in all other 7th gen Celicas, GT and GTS. Not very short, but SUPER smooth shifts.

B&M: Can be used in any MY GT or GTS as a rod replacement. Shortest throws, taller than B&M and easier to use because of greater leverage. Higest Price

TWM: Shortest rod, shorter throws than TRD, harder to use because of less leverage.

I have used TRD and TWM, and B&M in another car. The TWM is really the best, it makes the car feel like it should. Tight, direct shifts.

whoa I thought you gone South Diablo? still here to make Haulin happy huh? I have the B&M but it's tricky to use with the wider shift gates. I don't know much about the shift assembly yet... What can I do about the wider shift gates? Can I install the narrower gates of previous years...or do I have to change out too much junk to do that? Thanks...

EDIT: never mind rod replacement questions hehe...here on the West Coast we don't use the term "rod" too often to mean stick.

Ebaby. Got mine for $45. Works great, and it does sit way lower than the one in the pic up there.

there is a difference between the 00 and the 03 tranny. if you swap the shifter to TRD on the 00 celica, will it feel like the 03 tranny or was the 03 completely redesigned?

I haven't tried b&m for the celica, but my TWM SS is shorter than any of my friends' b&m SS's...it comes with new aluminum bushings, and reduces the throw 60%...i'm pretty damn sure that is more than b&m

i doubt the tranny was totally redesigned (not 100% certain though).

the person i bought my b&m ss from had an '03 celica gt...and it works great on my '00 celica gts
