sup guys,
i need help or advice about this incident that i ran through yesterday...
well, the story goes like this,
One dumbass(me) was driving yesterday when it was pouring real hard, I ran over a puddle of water and the engine just died all of a sudden. The water didn't look as deep as it was until I drove into it, I think it was like 3 inches deep. And I couldn't start my car since then, I had it towed to a body shop and they told me my motor is locked up due to too much water running into it. My only option is to get a new motor which would cost me 6 grand (including labor). cry
This is soooo f**cked up. I need all the advice i can get before I go ahead and do anything. And i trust I have the best celica's experts here.
Please help

your engine is waterlocked...bigtime!!! go to ATK-engines.com, and they'll get you a new motor for $2,699.00...and any decent shop shouldn't charge yo more than $1,000 to do the swap...I know its bad, but its better than $6,000

3SGTE is what came w/the All Trac Celica, but you're looking at $10k do make it fit. Stick w/the 2ZZ 'cuz it'll be cheaper & it's a direct bolt on.

it costs 10k just to make it fit???
i can find some imported 3SGTE engines for less than 3k.
so i guess the pain is the cost to make the engine fits, not cost of the engine itself.
correct me if i'm wrong.
