that said, audiobahn used to be underground not too long ago..and they have GREAT quality...better quality than most and they've been around a comparatively very short time.

audiobahn, infiniti, pioneer, alpine...personally i wouldn't buy anything else with my money.

jl or jlb, rockford fosgate, kicker, sony xplod, ... i do NOT recommend.

kenwood is in the middle, in my opinion.

How can you no like JL?!?! They are the king of subs. Audiobahn sucks in terms of music quality compared to them

^^ king of subs in terms of sale?

to be fair to jl and kicker--they give you good bang for the buck (you get good quality for what you pay for..which isn't a lot).

that said, almost every major speark/sub/amp/audio company has some offerings that are EXCELLENT (such as the rockford fosgate chrome thunders, for example--they are absolutely AWESOME)...but as a rule of thumb i don't like the brands i mentioned in general.

edit--'in general' i mean when all of their 'mean, median, and average' product offerings are considerred together

Jl has great speakers too. Ever heard of the XR's or new ZR's? No Jl in terms of sales doesnt compare to the big brands. They are a small private company and cant compete. But im sorry its just stupid not to like JL subs. They are among the best in the business for their sound and quality.

I agree - having heard many brands of speakers and subs, JL Audio XR's and w7's are among the best both in quality of manufacture and sound reproducibility...

oh and if you got any questions about eD subs just go to www.edesignaudio.com [edesignaudio.com] and you can get to their forum from there and learn all you want about their subs. yes they are the company from Iowa. Also you can talk to sales representatives on AIM which is a great help too. They have really good reviews and i give them a big thumbsup too.

yeah and plus you pay for quality and you dont have to pay a $300 for it to say JL. I have the flat cone subs which i think were last years version (real flat cone). They hit like a bitch! which reminds me i need to order my dynamat.

here's a pic of their subs. This is the A series (top of the line) i believe. And i also think they might have a new design now but dont hold me to it. Look real flush and clean installed.

I've have Infinity Kappa Speakers in my old car, they kicked ass. And had an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" sub in my last car aswell, kicked ass aswell.

I'm going all alpine on my celica. Alpine has the new Type-x componet speakers and subs that are bad ass. alpine amps to push, with the alpine ivad300 dvd player to pimp it all off.

Hey why stray from ED, Edead costs 3x less that dynammat and works just as good. Dynamat Extreme is the best sound deadener on the market but the cost to do 1 layer throughout the car is the same to do 2-3 layers of edead which will in turn have much better Performance than dynamat. I have 180sq ft of edead in my Pathy right now so don't worry you can trust me.
