neon is fast. but other than that there is nothing great about it. i would rather get a wrx, which is around same cost, since there are more wrx out in the market than srt. wrx has more mods and cheaper mods and its allwheel drive. srt is front wheel drive i think. all-wheel drive is much more fun and faster. i would go with -wrx -evo8 rs(rs version is 5k$ off) -rx8

o yea i love those cars you listed but i m thinking i can only spend 22,000 or less and the cheapest out of those is i think the WRX which is 25,000
i was planning on the 350z enthusiast trim but after looking at all the factors i need to save some cash

SRT-4 is definatly a badass car. Very fast and mods are available. I tuned one can smoke any normal car on the road. The suspension leaves something to be desired though. Still a good car

i have my celica as a daily driver and i want something alittle more fun and powerful for the weekends maybe you should have bought a GTS instead of a GT... do VW GTI 1.8T, it's so easy to run that thing fast...

GTI 1.8T is less than $24000. and SRT-4 doesn't have a nice engine, it's the Turbo charger that makes it fast...

I'm not really a fan for the SRT-4, I think its kind of ugly and the interior looks cheap.

rx-8 is under 22K? wow must be really crappy then. Like no A/C. I say WRX is a good idea. My cousin is looking into new cars to and he narrowed it down to:
mitsubishi lancer ralliart scion tc mazda 3
i think he should get a wrx but he's afraid it won't be reliable. He's gonna be doing payments by the hair by working a the gas station so yeah... but he makes $320 a week.

I would stay away from Neons. I had one and after like 45,000 miles all I had were problems. Also the rear windows are not power, which I think looks really cheap. I would look into the VW Golf GTi 1.8T as mentioned earlier or a used 350Z. The car doesn't have to be brand new does it?
My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10 of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

having a car is not all about Performance. even though thats only wut you want, you gotta have a car that looks good, especially ur driving it during the weekend. srt-4 is basically ugly and crappy looking inside. it is fast, but doesnt have anything more than that. doesnt handle, doesnt look good... why dont you wait a little longer and save some more money until christmas and then get urself something better like an evo or a wrx. at least they look good, they perform better and are head turners.

If you want something just for the weekends id save up and get a higher class of sport car. Or you could get an older corvette or muscle car. Why buy something for the weekends thats only slightly better than what you have now. Youll kick yourself after living with that neon interior for a month.

Never fails to make me laugh that people on a Celica site ask what car they ought to buy.

There are lots of nice cars out there that are reasonably fast for that price.
The Neon is of HORRIBLE build quality. It'll depreciate twice as quickly as any import... you're going to hate looking at it, and the interrior is uncomfortable and cheap. You'll be in the shop just as much as on the street, too.
Look at a GTS, GTI VR6 or 1.8t, RSX-s... heck, I'd even rather have a Mustang GT than a stupid Neon.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you
