hey guys, long time no see! here's the deal... on Friday I'll be driving from Harrisburg, PA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. On highways I usually do 10-12 over the limit comfortably. BUT, Friday falls on July 30th, right when most cops are trying to meet quotas and I'm gonna be an out-of-state'er so I fear I'll be a more attractive target. I'm gonna head straight down I-95. Do you guys think I'll be okay or should I knock it down to 5 over the limit? I've got 4 points on my record until this Fall, so I really can't afford another ticket, otherwise my license might go bye-bye. My dad said Georgia is particularly bad with speed enforcement...I dunno. thanks On a side note: My gf bought an 04 Solara SE Sport since I last posted

Dude the last time i was on I-95 heading south i think i had my cruise set at 100. Wait for a car to pass you moving at a nice speed. get behind them, see how fast they are going and then set your cruise alittle less. Once they get off go back to like 10 mph faster then the posted limit, and repeat the steps metioned above. I have never got a ticket using that method before

I go up and down I 95 all the time (NC to PA) and I do 85 all the time. Cops pass me like I'm standing still.

I'm not sure about I95 but I know if your on the Turnpike (from Orlando heading south) just be careful from Orlando till about a 1/2 hour past it. I've heard there are always people getting pulled over there. When I'm driving to Orlando and back I usually do about 100mph, and I've never been pulled over.
Oh, and I think there is some construction on I95 in the Palm Beach area.

Driving long distances is FUN. I drove from Frederick, MD to Lafayette LA, (nearly 1300 miles) in 15 hours. Stopped 3 times for gas, thats it. I-95 is nasty in VA, other than that, you are good to go. Rt. 81 is worse, thats the other route south towards AL/GA/LA I drive through TN at 110-120, and AL at 100, GA 120, LA 75 (the causeway is crawling with cops now )

DC beltway around 10-11AM, so hopefully I can get down past Richmond at least before any rush hour crap starts... especially on a Friday! I-81 is a sh|tter, I commute on it to get to work in Harrisburg every day. Too many friggen semi's on that route

I got a ticket in Harrisonburg once, that place is COP CENTRAL.
The whole town is built to collect money from tickets. 81 sucks, but it's the fastest route to Louisiana from MD.

be careful through GA...especially right now...don't go more than 8 over...we have the highest interstate speeds in the country right now, and the interstates are overrun with state patrol officers, and roadblocks...good luck tho

I wouldn't toy with the Lockinator, he'll shut you down faster than running 2 programs at once using Windows XP

just drive a few over the limit... not 15 I drove my Celica from SF California to Phoenix AZ and back!! I drove "my way" for about the first 300 miles after that i just kept it pretty much chill at the limit.
Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I work with the police...and for the most part...as long as you go the same speed as traffic they arent going to pull you over no matter how fast you are going...just dont stand out thats all...if you stand out you get nabbed...ive gone 90 down some roads with traffic no problem...then ive gone down the same road going 90 with no traffic on the road and have gotten pulled over...its all about standing out

dont get me wrong, i love to speed and do it all the time, but id say that if your liscense is in danger of getting revoked, then dont chance it. the only way to avoid getting a ticket is to not speed. even when your traveling with a huge pack of people, all doing the same speed, some jerk off cop will nab you, it always happens to the person with the most to loose.

Just use common sense. You can always go 5 over safely (as long as it's not dipping in and out of traffic). If you have a clear view of the road ahead and behind you, drive faster. If your license is that close to being pulled, just be careful.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

I heard somewhere that the only states that report back to PennDOT for the accumulation of points are NY, VA, and OH...although I don't plan testing that out
