- - Driving Record
Points = 0
Tickets = 0
Accidents = 2 (no ticket on either lol)
- All in all my record is clean except accidents...any suggestions and anybody know how bad im gonna get stuck in the ass now? thinking about getting a WRX...or 97 - 99 eclipse GSX

any reason you were doin 80-90 through a corn field? I think insurance companies usually frown on 80-90 alone, but when you're doin it in a sports car off road, that's usually not good at all spineyes

how much crop you ruin? liability may have been sucked dry if you took out a lot of corn!

dude, where did you crash? i would go with corolla XRS. insurance might be a bit cheaper than WRX, GSX, even a celica. and still get to feel the lift...

Instead of buying a sports car, but something you can handle.

2 accidents means you are a terrible driver.

i was taking my GTS in the twisties and having some fun with it, and up the road a bit i saw a little bit of a light reflection, didnt think anything of it, but it turned out to be my lights shining a deer's eyes...the deer was ina ditch and walked out and i had no choice but to hit it and catch an antler to the chest...or swerve and consequently go into a corn field, i chose the corn field rather than a antler to the heart...insurance told me i should have just hit it...lol some shit right?

There could be enough damage for the car to be totaled, but it's hard to tell with no pics or more info.

If the suspension is messed up, that could run a couple grand, not to mention if the exterior of the car is cracked anywhere, and who knows what type of condition the frame is in, and if anything under the hood got smashed, like your oil pan, etc.

Actually yes, hitting a deer is better than serving to avoid it. Speaking from the insurence point of view.

Reason being is that now there really is no proof a deer was even present. So they can say you were just going way to fast. Blah Blah Blah you get the point.

Sucks anyway thumbsdown

Two accidents means you are a terrible driver.

Driving into a cornfield at 80-90mph is a bad driver.

Driving NEAR a cornfield at 80-90mph is a bad driver.

Last time I checked, most cornfields are on rural roads, which you shouldn't be going that fast on in the first place.

I don't consider myself an awesome driver, I've made my share of mistakes.

Unlike you, I have learned from them.

I am not flaming you, you asked for advice, and some sound advice is to SLOW DOWN and buy a car you can drive responsibily.

When you get out on the highway, it's not just your life you are taking into your hands, it's other people's as well.

State farm is one of the BEST insurance companies out there, and you will never get back in with them.

Being dropped from them in a sign you are a bad driver. They want to make money, and obviously you are not a person they want to do business with.

I agree with diablo 100%, it is just plain stupid to drive so fast in a rural area where you can hurt yourself, and others. But concerning your insurance, i have my crotchrocket insurance through progressive, and it is pretty much the best and least expensive place i could find. I am not sure how they are with automotive, but i am sure they are pretty good.

You are a high risk for insurance companies plain and simple, For one you are prolly just a kid , Second You got two accidents under your belt already and your still just a kid. Personally I don't think there was a deer in the road I think you just lost it due to your lack of experience behind the wheel and You want us to feel sorry for you thumbsdown

This is the response you'll get when you (NOOB) calls one of us douche bag by the way.

peculiar circumstances concerning the totaling of the celica. still i'm quite unsure 'bout the conditions and damages from the accident.

pushing the limits consistently could be classified as extreme driving. doing so that could endanger others or yourself would be classified as wreckless.

hey, i max out all my gears once in a while, but, you don't have to always hit lift. you know, in urban areas especially, lift takes you to 35mph+...

i have progressive insurance. my last speeding ticket gets taken off this december, so my license is clean. i've had three no-fault accidents and one fender bender with a rental during winter, still my insurance rate is like $1300 per year for full coverage.

maybe that little geico lizard can save you a whole bunch of money on your car insurance also...

Umm you do realize that your insureance will go up if you get either of those two cars (mitsu Eclipse or WRX) because they are AWD. Maybe you should get a civic or integra.

If you want to make money to pay for a WRX STi in cash...I would get a used Toyota Echo 2-door and use the money you save to dump $10,000 into the car including a 2zz-GE motor and nitrous (no Turbo--it can be heard). Echos weigh 2000 lbs so it will be one fast sucker. Plus people won't hesitate to bet $100 that they will beat an echo, hahahahaha. thumbsup I say go for it man. It would be the most ridiculously fast Echo you've ever seen, and in no time if you have your friends set up enough races (kick 'em back a little), you can buy that STi in cash!

When I drive by the corn field to school at night, I go like 5-10mph below the speed limit, everybody does it because we know the area has a lot of deers... I think i've seen like 50+ deers in one drive.

My best bet is I try not to go over 10-15mph over the speed limit, and if the road has obstructions (deers, rocks, corn fields grin) I usually stay the speed limit or below.

People may hate me cause I'm not a vroom vroom racer, but I'd like to keep my car beautiful thumbsup

rofl rofl rofl i was just gonna sell my 2zz engine for rather cheap, it only has 20 grand on it, and hasnt been damaged in either accident...first accident was a fender bender that wasnt my fault, and now this one...the bad one frown , but for some reason after the first accident my insurance rep still wanted to talk to me even though fault wasnt pinned on me. my car was FUCKED up, it was more like a fender smasher lol, fuckin SUV rear ended me, actually got hurt in that one...

i called him a douche bag because he called me a shitty driver, maybe i deserve that comment, but then in return he deserved my comment? kinda feel me at all on that? and ive been in 2 accidents yes, 1 my fault, 1 not, but the first one fucked me up so bad, that insurance told me if i get into another one, my fault or not, im being dropped, and its partially because of the kind of car i own and the other because of my age, my insurance didnt shell out a penny, so im not sure why they were so upset about the one that fault wasnt pinned on me

But like i said man, i never meant to offend anybody, he called me a shitty driver, i called himb a douchebag, he could have went about a better way of telling me i suck at driving lol, and i could of went a better way of telling him i didnt appreciate that comment, check my posts man...never said a mean word to any1...

I cannot understand why some people are being so harsh on SkyhighRedline. He simply wanted some advice (most likely positive ones, not negative). But, driving through a corn field is pretty damn idiotic. It's hard to believe if he was really trying to dodge a deer, because he said "I just took my GTS on a offroad adventure into a corn field." And, why would anyone go 80 or 90 MPH while driving through a corn field. You are pretty much asking your Celica to get f**ked up. But anyway, lets not be TOO harsh on him.

Hey man, where I'm at ive got farms in non-rural areas where i do 90+, so don't feel bad, and I do it responsibly. I've done the corn field thing and haven't fucked up my car so I dont know what you did. But after defending this much I still need to give the the award...

just because the guy got into two accidents doesn't mean he is a bad driver . I got into two and they just pullled out in frout of me and just slamed on their breaks so I would hit them, that whole they wanted me to hit them thing... but yea man I feel bad for you but maybe a van or something would be cool.

But anyway, I'll ignore all the previous junk and just post on the topic.

I'm not sure how your first accident wasn't at fault, but if that's true, it doesn't go as a point on your rating level. If they ruled it as partially your fault and you just think it wasn't, that's a different story. In either case, two at-fault accidents could get you canceled, but it isn't 100%. If there was an injury in either, you're toast.

You should have hit the deer. I would much rather stayed on the road and tried avoiding a direct collision with it (the deer could NOT be the width of a traffic lane). For all you know, there could have been a person, tractor, water pipe, or worse in that field. Be thankful it turned out as well as it did. Not saying most people wouldn't panic and do the same thing... just giving you something to think about if you get in the same situation again.

If by some chance you do get lucky and State Farm does agree to not drop you... you have a few options. One would be dropping everything but liability. Your car doesn't change the liability premium, so that way you wouldn't need to worry about what you buy. Also, if you had a third claimed accident within three years of the first, you're not going to be insured by ANYONE... so collision is sort of pointless to carry now. Other option would be to get a cheap car. Civic, Protege, or Corolla. People are totally confused about what the rating group for the car is determined by. It's 80% repair costs... not engine size.
