i know there is like a billon post with this exact same problem but here we go, basically my check engine light came on when i installed my cai, so i cleaned the mafs and reset the ecu, now my cel comes on for like 20 min. and then will go off for like 5 days and then it will come on again. so i used my obd-II reader to see what was happening and it said that my "system is too lean". So that means that it is not getting enough fuel into the cylinder compared to air right? so what should i do to even it out a little bit?
Thats probably a MAF problem, since the MAF is what tells your ECU what amount of fuel to give for what amount of air. Mine did that for about a week until the MAF and ECU got re adjusted to the new amount of air
i cleaned the mafs really really good, and i still got the cel. so im going to try and find new fuel rails and bigger injectors, that will defintly fix the problem if i can make the mixture with the ecu's standereds again, and ill still have my power.
p.s. does anyone know how many cc's the gt fuel injectors are?
the only way to correct the problem is with a fuel management system, otherwise the MAF will still report less air than what actually enters the Intake and boom lean code all over again.
TPR Intake! - Injens high end with AEM's low end and NO BOGGING! TPR EXHAUST! - Exhaust made 10.5 whp peak and 32 whp at 6300 on my car!!!
first thing to do is check to see if you installed it properly, than clean the MAF sensor properly too(remember to pull the negative from the battery before doing it)
