A couple of you guys said you have had this painting professionally done. I was just wondering how long the shop kept your car to finish it

That's what I've been doing as we speak, painting them in my garage, it's much cheaper, i've spent near $20 on the whole thing, went to the dealership, asked for paint and spend like 13.50 on a gallon of that shit, i'm airbrushing it on and sanding about 4-5 times then in comes the Clear Coat

I'm also in the process of painting my interior trim. I've got my center console area done. the longest part of the process is waiting for the paint to setup and completely dry before reinstalling. atm I've spent $6 bucks on 2 cans of paint. I'm using testors transperent blue which is the same paint used in the above pic. no sanding involved, just make sure you clean every spec of dirt from the plastic before you paint. I used simple green to remove dirt/grease and whatever else used to be all over my dash. lollol

i did mine myself. only spent around $20. There's a great guideline by carbon_blue_gt in the "feature section".

mine came out great but i just need to add more clear coat.

(check my profile for a pic or two.)

i used Model Masters paint (you can find some at a hobby shop). i chose this one because Testors didnt have the blue that i wanted. The color i got is called True Blue Pearl. and it has a pearl in it.

BTW Tamiya paint is the best IMO. its about $4.99ea. it smells way different from any other spray paint. and the result is the best i've seen.
