I was looking thru the installs and I'm sure this hasn't been done on my car before, but I had a quick question about it. Which kind of oil is needed? The author says
"Redline 75w95NS oil. (don't use Redline 75w90) without the NS",
but then later someone else says
"Don't use Redline 75w90ns. Use Redline MT90. It's for our transmissions which have synchros."
spineyes
Who's right? Or will choice C, Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Oil (75W-90), work too? Thanks-

Can you buy Redline at any auto parts store? And how much more is it than Mobile 1?

And we are all waiting for someone to show us some wisdom in this area, lol.

But yeah, how many miles you got NorwayGT? I have 53K on mine right now.

I am thinking of changing the Tranny oil when I change out the stock shifter to my TWM SS. I got that SS already but have had no time to install it.

Toyota recommends every 30k, but every 15-20k keeps the shifting very smooth!

Redline is more of a specialty oil than Mobil 1 so most import shops will carry them, you can expect to spend about 9$ a bottle, you need 2.4 quarts so unfortunately you will need to buy 3 and then save the rest for next time!

So 30 bucks for a change of tranny fluid. Not bad.

Will perform this with my next Oil Change. 3K more miles...
