I'm going to be buying a first car soon, and I've been thinking about buying a 2000 GT, or GTS but my main concern is my insurance costs.

If I was under my Dad's insurance (Nationwide), took a defensive driving course, had a passive alarm, and had a perfect record driving wise, and got a good student discount..can anyone estimate what it would be AROUND, at least?

Sorry if this is a repost about insurance but uh..yeah. Thanks in advance.

^^ there is NO possible way to estimate your insurance costs...especially with your location being "USA". insurance rates vary EXTREMELY from region to region and from state to state and even from city to city.

your best bet is to go to www.progressive.com [progressive.com] and use their online quoting system..it will also give you quotes for their main competitors as well thumbsup

Celica insurance is a lot for both the GT and GTS. If you really want to savy money, DONT get a Celica as your first car. You will pay more for insurance for a year than you will actually pay for the car? thumbsdown $300 per month and up!

celica gt insurance is cheaper than gts insurnace..for instance..the rates for a celica gt are usually lower than a honda civic coupe...but for a gts the insurnace is a bit higher.

i know this because my bro bought a honda civic coupe and my gts insurance was $100 more a month.

here's what to do. put the celica under your dad's name with full coverage and buy an old junker with a title and put liability under your name. so then you can afford the insurance. thumbsup
