The GT tops out at 130 or so, but with more power, i.e..Turbo, you can get more power which will allow you to go faster and top out at a higher speed!! Now my question is, not relating to how fast i can get there, but how can i get my gt, to top out at a higher speed?? NOt necesarily getting to a higher speed faster, but being able to keep going past 130?? Now i heard bigger final drive, etc...So what would i need and how would i do it??

get cams and bore out ur engine to a 2.0 that would help for top speed when you reach 130 ur not redlining in 5th yet right if you are then you have to change ur gear ratios but doing that will slow ur 1/4 mile times
i've been changing but you'll never see me now now i'm blaming you for everything

Someone told me to change to the Euro GT 6 speed, supposedbly it has the same first 5 gears as the american spec gt 5 speed, but has an added 6th gear, so obviuosly its like getting the same tranny that the gt has and changing to ratios, but adding a 6th gear. It was made that way for the autobahn. I am not sure on the specifics for the Euro GT 6 speed, but its something like that. Its supposed to help you maintain fast 1/4 mile times and yet give you bigger over all speed. Also, C2Gas, is selling the Gt tranny kit, doesnt that come 6th speed as well, so wouldnt that work????

Gutting your car and making it lighter will help with top speed and acceleration. Also, larger tires/rims will increase your top speed, but not by anything too dramatic.
Also, keep in mind that once you get going that fast, the speedometer becomes very inaccurate.

Well, it depends on how tall the gears are. By adding an extra gear, it also means that the other gears become shorter in order to make room for that sixth gear. You could go custom and just add just swap in a taller fifth gear, but then power comes into play. Gearing doesn't mean shit unless you have enough power to get there.

OK what is a better 6th gear to have, 0.815 or 0.725, becuase the euro GT 6speed, ends with .725, same as the american GTS. but the Euro GTS, ends with .815, same as the American GT 5th gear, so what would the better 6th gear in a 6speed be, .815 or .725, and the 5th gears for both of them are the same, i believe its .915, so what would it be??

just change the tranny to a 6 speed, many Turbo GT owners have done this before and is a common solution to your problem. C2 gas is an excellent source of info p.d. de donde eres?

The lower the number, the taller the gear. Taller gears generally mean higher top speed, slower acceleration.

I have nothing to offer here, except for a question. Where and when the hell are you topping 130 on a regular basis? Because I want to go there.

Theres a small road, about 6 miles long, where there are never any cops, almost everyone around base knows this, and if there were to be cops, youd be able to see them, becuase theres no median strip and no crossover, so theres no where to hide, so evryone does it all the time!!

Alright, then the total outcome of this is that i want to get the Euro GT 6speed, it will bolt right on, and it has the final gear of .725, same as the american gts 6 speed but this way i wont have to make a bracket or anyting, it will bolt right on!! So how would i go by buying this, or would c2gas kit, be a complete replacement with the original tranny housing??
