Is it possible to hook up a sub/amp setup with the stock system on a Celica? If so, how? A friend is donating his system to me, and I don't want to get a head unit yet (possibly getting an AVIC-N1 down the line). Any suggestions?

i hooked my system to my stock system. As long as your amp has speaker level input you can. All you have to do is get the wiring diagram and split your rear speaker wires and send them to the amp. Then you also have to send the amp power. and connect the acc. wire to the wire on the stock stereo harness that is none constant power. Very easy to do...only took like an hour to do mine. You can hook the speaker level input to other speakers but i figure it still gives you control of where the sound comes from...

It is possible. That is what I am running right now.

I have my stock CD HU hooked up to a Fosgate Punch 800 powering up 2x12JL.

I will be upgrading soon tho.

I took off the 2x12JL 2 weeks ago and the Amp is just powering the stock spears and the HU. I sounds pretty good, better than stock but not by much.

the sound will be much better and more crisp on an aftermarket headunit.
