ok, in 2 weeks i will have 500 dollars that i can spend on my car. im mostly interested in 1/4 mile racing. right now i have...
ENGINE: Injen CAI With Injen Watershield Kazuma Exhaust Hotshot Header
SUSPENSION: Hotchkis springs TRD rear triangle bar thingy APR front strut tower bar
EXTERIOR: S2k Antenna TYC Redouts
my best time right now is 15.41 @ 89.30mph. what mod would be best for me to do next you think? im thinking 15 inch rota subzero's (12lb rims). my friend who got light weight rims said that he could tell the difference over his stock rims. i would be able to mount the tires that i currently have on my stock rims ( potenza G 009 205/60/15), then eventually get some real sticky tires. do you guy's think these rims would make any difference to my 1/4 mile times?, or do you think that i should spend my money on something else? please dont say nitrous, because i dont want that.
btw, my goal is to run 14's without much more of anything done.

new rims/tires is always a good idea, i was gonna say n2o, but then i read you didn't want that. a lighter fly wheel is never a bad idea either, but i think you are right going with rims/tires

u gotta start just like you listed. cai before anything. probably the best money per hp and plus that sick noise it makes. its 200, so you can save the rest and then buy an exhaust and then headers.

damn, hard choice, go with the rims, lighten your wheel weight, will help with speeds!! That will take off ten pounds per wheel for a total of 40 pounds, or get carbon fiber hood!!

1. clutch/flywheel 2. better tires, light rims(nothing bigger than 16" probably) 3. pulley/short shifter 4. gutt ur interior out. i know better octane fuel for a gts gives gains, but does it do the same to a gt?

That would def be the best way to go imo. I cant really think of anything else, except for nitrous but you said you didnt want that. If you do enough guttin of the interior and i know that you are the driver you should be runnin 14's.

yeah i was going to say the greddy e-manage and you can get it programed to the parts you have
if not that then second choices would be a flywheel
then the rims
and what website sells them for that cheap
i've been changing but you'll never see me now now i'm blaming you for everything

i know better octane fuel for a gts gives gains, but does it do the same to a gt? Don't make me go on about octane, but higher octane never "gives" you any horsepower. If your car is ment for a certain octane use it, you'll only create more carbon build.

the emanage is around $500 and the apexi PFC for the GT is $1,000, and you can manipulate the VVT on our cars with it...email matt @ MWR about the Apexi PFC for the 1zz for more info...I already deleted the email

you're going to have $500? Ok, time to spend it on an Evo RS payment! You'd agree yourself that modification would make you faster than anything you can do to your celica, right? j/p You can spend the money on a flywheel, but you'll have to drop the transmission yourself as the labor will cost you. Rims would probably be your best bet as Rota Slipstreams or Subzeros are lightweight for the price. You have the stock rims now, right?...so you'll definitely feel the difference as you probably know those stock GT's weigh about 22 lbs. The e-manage if bought through MWR does come "pretuned" but that doesn't mean much since it's all relative values anyway as it's a piggyback system. You'll have to have it dyno-tuned professionally to your car to maximize the gains, unless you can do that yourself. But if you did, you'd still have to pay for dyno hookup time. The install might also be a factor on the e-manage if you aren't comfortable with electrical wiring and diagrams. You should also have a laptop computer for any fuel/ignition computer you get, although it's not absolutely necessary if you just want a shop to tune it for you once. But that approach is not cost-effective as you could have spent that money on a cheap used laptop which is all you need for this application. So in your case, I'd say rims.
I get my kicks on EC.
