I bought a remote from ebay because the dealers charge like $ 175 bucks and $ 30 more for programming. I have a 2000 Celica GT and i can't get it to work. It doesn't look exactly the same as mine and it says its for TRW. Here's the one i bought: click here [cgi.ebay.com] . I wanted to know why they would make 2 types of remotes? And if that one would even work with my car. I tried using the programming instructions that came with it but they didn't work. I also tried the programming instructions here up to the point where it programs the remote.
If you guys know any tips or tricks that i could get it working, or even if it does work, i'd appreciate it.
As far as I know ach remote works off of a different freq. so that you can't go around opening up everyone's doors. The only way to reprogram a remote would to correctly set the new freq. so your exisiting alarm will respond to it.
The dealer is the only one that I know of that can do this.
yes one y bought is deferent from our celica's... but they both are for RS3200 brain... do you have the instruction to program the remote to the RS3200...? even i bought right remote i could not program it... so i bought whole RS3200 kit from ebay... costs about $120.00... let me know how you tried to program it...
