Hello all, I just picked up my new ( or new to me ) toyota celica GT last night. While driving it home I noticed that one of the backlights behind the temp controls was burned out. I read the guide about removing the center console, but I didn't see anything on here about replacing those lights, just on how to change there color. Has anyone had any exp replacing these lights ?

I also wanted to get a new radio for the car. I put one in my Del Sol and it was fairly straight forward. This car looks like it will need a bigger faceplate or something if I don't want to buy a radio big enough to cover the space. If someone could point me in the right direction I would apriciate it.

I was thinking about trying to take my speakers from my del sol and move them into my car if they aren't to difficult to replace. A computer at Best Buy says that the speaker sizes for my del sol and the celica are the same. ( 6.5 ? )
Infomation on this would be greatly apriciated as well.

Other than these things, the car runs great and I have really enjoyed driving it.

Conversion kits are available which will allow you to put a normal sized heck in the big hole from stock one. You get a nice little pocket to put CD's in below the deck. You should also pickup a wiring harness conversion kit which will allow you to hook up the new deck without splicing into your car's wiring harness.

The speakers in the Celi are good, replace the deck & then see if you want to replace the speakers. I highpass mine & run a couple of subs & they sound great.

i have heard you have to go to toyota and get a replacement circuit board that the leds are soldered onto. either that or try to solder some new leds on, not sure i would do that though.

Well, I took out the center console and removed the light I need. I tried several auto parts stores and radio shack and they don't have anything like it. I'll have to stop by a toytoa dealership and see if they have the part.
