A couple of years back I drove out to Cali on a road trip from here in central Ontario. 49 hours straight to Sanfran!

The PC highway from Sanfran to LA was the most beautiful stretch of highway I have ever seen. Also, crossing the desert at sunset flying down the open highway, foot to the floor was amazing. The Hoover dam & the Grand Canyon are way bigger than I ever imagined.

My point, my trip to Cali was memorable.

Anyone have pics of the twisties on the PC highway?

The pics are great, and thats one of my favorite sections of road too. Second only to some of the backroads in southern New Mexico.

In 2 weeks, I'm doing NYC to Yellowstone, Vancouver, LA, Vegas, and back to New York.

Last summer I did NYC to New Orleans, Vegas, SanFran, Denver and back.

I didn't take a lot of pictures last trip. This time to make up for it, I've been working on stop motion video. I have a wide angle camera hooked up to a small PC, snapping a pic every few seconds. 100 miles get condenses down to about a minute played back at 30fps. The highlites of the trip should fit on a dvd.

Last summer was in my old 88 firebird, falling apart around me. I'm eager to finally go on a road trip in my Celica.

Not entirely sure, on the PCH somewhere.

Two summers before that I flew out to Calgary, rented a car and drove through the mountains to Vancouver & back. The summer just before I flew to Florida, rented a car & toured the entire state top to bottom. The newyears millenium I drove to NYC. In the fall I drove out to Halifax through Montreal & Quebec City. The summer after the trip above I did NewOrleans & up the east coast. Last summer was Pensilvannia; I went cave touring.

Thanks, the only problem you might have is getting quality. It sure would be cool though to have about a 30 minute highspeed trip.

its amazing how many things you can see from just that one highway.

yeah i've been on it...

and i drove to cali from philly too... took 4 days @ 17+ hours of driving per day.

Me rich, naw ... road trips are cheap & a good yearly vacation. This is one of the ways I ended up with 200,000 on my Celi.

Your driving too slow!

Overnight through the praries & the desert I was at the speed governor on the Corolla the entire time! (115MPH)

how long did your road trip take? how do you pay your bills with the amount of time you're taking off from work.

California trip was about 10 days & I think I brought about $1000 USD. No problem, I get three weeks paid vacation a year.

so with $1000 you were able to go across the country and back? Did that include fuel, food, supplies, etc?

Yep all inclusive with hotels, KOA's, gas & food for two people.

Road trips are the cheapest vacation short of staying home.

damn i wanna go on a road trip!! i think i only get about 2wks of paid vacation tho, one more year and i think ill be able to get 3wks.

PCH is awesome

Not to mention you get to see ferraris and lambos crusin too
