My girlfriend just got me a viper alarm model 790xv for my birthday...good girl...anyways, no shop will install the remote start feature because i have a manual and there is a liability issue with the owner leaving the car in 1st gear, then pressing the remote start, causing the car to start moving when it starts up. If anyone knows of any website install guide or knows how to install the remote start feature, please let me know! Also, if any shops in the GA area ya'll know of, share it.
Thanks.

tell the shop they are mistaken I just installed the 791vx in my friends tacoma. There is a built in safety feature in that alarm that will not allow the car to start in any gear but nuetral. Bring this to their attention. If you have electronic experience do it yourself but on a manual its gunna be abit harder. Let the shop know that, and they might change their mind.

i dont have the viper system, but i do have the compustar system and it came w/ remote starter...it too has a safety feature so as not to start in any gear but neutral...
actually, its not really as much as a feature (in mine) as it is a ritual...to be able to remote start my car the next time i want to get in it, when im getting out i have to hold both the brake and the clutch, put the car in neutral, pull the e-brake, let go of the clutch, let go of the brake...(in that order)...then my lil "beeper" for the system "sings" a lil toon letting me know its ready for remote start...a lil weird at first, but now its second nature...

yeah or you could just ground the wire at the end of the clutch so it always thinks it is pressed in, i am installer at best buy for the past 3 years and this is the way i have always done it with a manual car, just tell the shop you will fill out a waiver

you have to do that with automatics as well luckily most new cars already have the safety feature that won't let you start your car in any gear but nuetral.
