A few weeks ago I was run off the road by one of the city busses here in ATlanta, and broke 2 of my rims. I posted about it too. Anyway, so its gonna cost me $750 to get them both replaced, plus tires...the city gave me hell about it, and I filed a claim with my insurance company and had them suffrogate it (where they go after the other people). Well, they recovered $1,100.00 in my expenses (towing, control arm, alignement, blah, blah, blah), and are cutting me a check for $600 on monday. I asked what heppened to the $1,100, and they said that since I have a $500 deductible, they are taking it out!!!! ...so much for that crap, guess I'll have my beaters on for a few more weeks
haha that sucks dude. when i got into an accident it cost me 25000 but i only had to pay 500 deductable, hahaha. oh yea and like 500 bucks to rent a car for a month.
you can reduce or eliminate the deductible, but you pay more for your policy. I have 0 deuctible, but since I'm older than most of you my rates are lower, but it is an option...
here we go again. Total damage of my car was well over $2000 and they only give me $300. My whole stereo system was not cover and some exterior damage was not insure. goddamnit I hate insurance.
yeah what company is that? You're going to make me ask again? I want to know so I can tell all my friends, family, and everyone I meet in the future. I will tell them to tell all the people they meet and pass it on. Always get even!
If you are not the responsible party, the other company is liable to pay for ALL your expenses. You don't have to pay your deductible.
With State Farm, Allstate, AAA, ect...
If you file a claim and choose to have repairs done prior to the other (at-fault) party's company claiming liability (fault), you pay your deductible. Subrogation then occurs to recover both the money your company paid out, AND your deductible for you.
Call them and tell them that the city claimed liability and that the claim is NOT against your collision coverage... making your collision deductible non-applicable. If they still give you grief, threaten to get a lawyer. It's probably not worth it to actually hire one for $500, but they are cheating you... they know it, and they might give in if they think you might pursue it legally.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you
