when the odo 99012 miles... the "check engine" light came on!! wtf angry frown why??? I haven't anything under the hood... rolleyes
Any ideas why is this happening? What can I do??? confused

Edit: I wasn't expecting something like that from a ... ohboy I got a '84 Nissan 300zx (btw: reliable car!)... the light came on @ 220k... wtf I thought Toyota was better than Nissan... rolleyes

how old is it?.. might juss be a minor problem that a warranty cant fix... prolly juss needs a tuneup... or maybe ur air filter is clogged? im not a genius in the mechanics area but it shouldnt be anything big

I have a '00 GT... wtf no warranty anymore...! rolleyesair filter: I just installed K&N air filter about 3 months ago (90k miles)... ohboy
Anyways... I hope you're right: ... it shouldn't be anything big... Let's see what the diagnosis will say tomorrow... confused

mine came on at under 30k, ended up being something big...head and catalitic converter had to be replaced, under warranty tho, and had it fixed at toyota, they were like "this is very uncommon in such a new car".

I think it comes on at 99k to remind you to go to the dealer for your 100k checkup. this should be done no matter how hast you hit the miles up.

yeah...I talked to the dealer and they said that they had to replace a lot of catalytic converters with the celic...and I've also heard about the CEL coming on at 100K as well
