Which one do you think it's best handling and more potential? and one more thing... I heard EVO MR is heading to the US but do you think it's a hundred percent positive go on sale in the US?
This has been talked about many times here. People are just going to bo by what they like more. Personally I like the STi more. And yes the MR is coming to the US
a couple months back in Dsport mag they did a dyno comparison on a Evo VIII and STi they had boost all the way up to 21 lbs, intake, exhaust on evo. sti was stock boost. STi still had more hp with just an Intake and exhaust.

way up to 21psi is only 2psi over stock. its not a big increas
was....5speed with i/h/e 15.41 @ 89.30mph 2.282 60'
Subarus have supposed bulletproof clutches that will never wear out. Ive never confirmed this but if you can do that to a clutch the rest of the car must be damn good. The only thing i dont like is your stuck with the blue interior even if yo buy a silver or black sti.
mitsu is cancelling warranties on evos if you auto cross them or participate in any off road competition most of which involves the Sports Car Club of America(SCCA).
Subaru, from what i heard, offers SCCA memberships when you purchase a Subaru vehicle.
Its commonly known that in every serious motoring review the Evo comes out on top, simply because its quicker and handles better. All the way through the generations, particularly the Evo5 and 6, Mitsubishi has always had the Performance advantage over the Subaru. The Impreza is a fast car but the Evo is just brutal!!!!
EVO is quicker on the track just cause it handles better STOCK...but what's gonna stop someone from modding it?
STi!!!!! every feature on that car puts a smile on your face, trust me
"You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f------ khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."
EVO MR will be on sale here in us.ppl r already putting down deposit for that car.i heard theres gonna b a crazy ass mark up so it'll hit 40,000.looks wise neither of those cars r attractive to me,but if it was between evo 7 n sti,i'll choose evo 7 without a doubt.
sti i say this by looking at the bigger picture. sti has more power stock, handles a lil bit les than the evo, but the aftermaket for an sti is HUGE!!! which means easier to find good parts. plus subaru is an awsome that stands behind any car that they make 100% and the quality of their rides are much better. only bad thing i can think of on the sti is when 60,000 miles runs up and you need your timing belt changed- those are bitches on subaru's
evo on the other hand does handle better but mitsubishi is (in my mind) kinda going down the drain. in that they don't back their vehicles and they aren't doin well market wise.
i say this mostly out of what i've seen at the mobil. no we don't get sti's or evo's stoppin in but we do get all the other subaru's and mitsubshi's that are one the road. and belive me the subaru's are in better shape and are easier to fix.
I did some quite a research on both of these cars. and they are identical car, its all matter of opinion. Mr is coming to US, however only 800 of them. Good luck finding it, most of them are already preordered. not to mention they are starting at 33,000 and sticker price is going to be around 40,000$. Here are some comparsons..
Evo- 271hp 5speed, LSD, 27,000base pro -world class handling, 2nd best handling in JDM supercars. -light weight car -stock internal engine can hold up to 600hp to crank. -lots of aftermarket parts, high potential. -cheap as in price for what you are getting con -crappy interior and exterior. very weak body(they don't sell evo in canada, since they fail the crash test, it breaks the front intercooler going 25mph, and its about 5000$ damages -"Lancer with better engine and suspension." -clutch wears out very quick and some tranny problem. -mitsu is going down, from bankrupt! and their warranty sucks -turbo kicks in too harsh for daily driven car.
Sti - 32,000 base 300hp, 300tq, DCCD, 6speed pro -instant power right away. without harsh Turbo kick in -all around car, handling, power, comfort. -best handling in the dirt(offroad) -Best car of the year -great looks exterior and interior. -it comes with everything you need. con -lot of understeer in tarmac. -price is little high(but for what you are getting this is ok) -2.5 boxer engine is very hard to work on. no room for anything under the hood.
i think that's about it. there isn't really anything bad about these cars. matter of personal opinion. TOPGEAR tested these cars and the conclusion was that "evo is a stealth fight, with very technical driving" "sti is a total bombshell" But evo's track time was way higher than sti. EVo actually got 2nd place in over all track time. sti came 5th.
however the mr is suppose to be the answer to sti. they are fast running 12.9 in1/4 and 291hp us/345hp jp. it comes with AYC and VCD controller, 6 speed, minor exterior changes for aerodynamic, BBS rims, and much more.
i'd go with the STi. it has good looks and if you've seen any Subu commercials then its only right that they guarantee it, autox and all. its meant to be driven.
i'm subarus unofficial spokesperson.
I've mastered the art of the After Image Technique.
my good friend just bought a sti, it is sick. I want to race him on my bike. I cant believe that they are so anal on test drives. I think a wrx would be good enough for me though. If i ever got rid of the celica

They are TOO anal on test drives. I got curious while car shopping the other day and stopped by the Subi lot. I was ACTUALLY car shopping, and the guy still grilled me so much I just left.
It's like "prove to me you are really worthy of buying this car, and I'll consider letting you test drive it". Fucking sales people. It's an STi, not an Enzo.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

i love evo too, but not the 8, i like the old tommi evo6, that's much better car i think. however when i look at evo and sti, its like this evo- for street racers, teenage group, cool looking, and not a very good quality. sti- all above that, but more higher class. ofcourse more money. But sti offers more daily driven car, where as evo is only for racing.
when the STi was first released, it did not come standard with radio/AC...they were always an option that you COULD get but rarely...most did have AC though, just no radio...my friend i work with at toyota has a black STi 04 and had to buy a system right away since he had no radio
but subaru for 2005 made a shitload of changes on the STi and WRX...offering radio and AC standard on all STi's now and much more...the wrx got a bunch of updates too...both with freshend interiors.
anyway, i agree about the EVO 8...it's gay the EVO 5, 6 and 7 were amazing cars...i still love the EVO 7 and would get that mother anyday
but the STi is awesome like i said..and for daily driving? lol, my friend with the black one is always saying how he gets like 12 miles per gallon on 93 octane...lol but these things happen
i went to the night race at california speedway and this guy actually had EVO MR!!!!!! It looks SICK!!! But there isn't much difference. He said he got the car through car magazine people. But it does look nicer than regular evo. and its fast too
I would definitely get an EVO MR although I am a big fan of STI. I think hadling is more important than the horsepower but horsepower is important too.

my friend had a subaru and he wore the clutch out 8 months after he bought it. it was at about 40k
