Anyone know where I can get a replacement bulb for the climate control backlight. The dealership's i've called tell me I would have to order the whole A/C control board to get the lights. I have looked at the light and can't see any bulb number or anything to try to replace it with something else. If anyone has any info on either a replacement bulb or the buld number, I would greatly appricate it.

Thanks.

You can get the bulbs if you go to a dealer and ask them for it.

There is no part number, but sometimes they have them in stock for other applications.

I got mine from a car salvage yard when mine went out. It costed me 5 cents. Call around and look for a wrecked celica, you can get parts very cheap. Hope that helps U. thumbsup

That would be great. I'm going to start calling salvage yards in a few days when I have more time. I would be interested to see your work-around smile

BUMP smile

FYI - This mod can also be done even if your stock lighting is still installed and working just fine - it will change the color of your center climate controls to either BLUE/RED/GREEN or WHITE - and can be removed at a later date if you decide to

install pictures and such should be up this weekend - Im planning on redoing my install from last week - again tonight... Just so pictures & guide can be posted

Remember when I told of few of you that I broke my A/C circuit board trying to acetate the bulbs. I need a new one. Is it gonna cost like $70. You think I could DIY with a little help? I'm so fucked, aren't I? cry

If nothing on the board works, bite the bullet and buy a new one. If just the lights don't work, then wait for Isaac's guide.

I'm also in the process of making a guide.

I bought a few different light sources today, and am going to install them tomorrow.

I think I might be having the same issue on my 2002 Toyota Celica. There are two positions (Lamp 1 and Lamp 2) that house small, twist-lock bulbs but I don’t know what size to purchase for replacement. Unfortunately, I bought my Celica used and these two bulbs are missing. Additionally, the light that illuminates when I push the A/C does not illuminate either. Any suggestions?

The same thing happened in my Celica. I am currently working to design a replacement socket for these bulbs that uses LEDs, allowing for different colors/longer lifespan/brighter output. I'll try to either post pictures or update this post once I have something that works without soldering directly to the board.
