i just lowered my ride with Hotchkis lowering springs, and KYB adjustable shocks, and Hotchkis camber links, its rides great, now i want to throw on a muffer that doesnt sound like a damn fart can like those half ass hondas around, but i need some advise on what i should do with the exhaust system, should i go for the magnaflow muffler welded on to the stock piping cause i want to keep it looking clean and sounding nice, or should i just go for headers instead???
get some Headers, and then invest in the Veilside Muffler, it doesnt sound too ricy, until you really really step on it, it has more of a smooth sound too it.
what do you mean weld the muffler? the best deep sounding exhaust out there are -trd -rmm -greddy evo2 -apexi n1 -borla
they all have same characteristic as far as Performance and sound. don't worry it won't sound ricy either. All of these exhaust will get you the best clean fit.
if you just want the muffler-canister-, go with -veilside -apexi they both have great sound. however you need to make a custom pipe that connects the muffler to the pipe. these will cost you about 300 bucks, everything needs to be custom. which dooes "not" guarantee the sound and Performance. you can buy yourself best axle back exhaust system for under 400.-such as apexi na, greddy evo2, borla, etc. i would definitly go with these choices
I ahve a magnaflow exhaust and its nice...deepand smooth, and the louder it gets (the more you step on it), and it also gets deeper as it gets louder, in the upper rpm range, especially from 4000 rpm to redline
i too would go with TRD, it's a direct bolt on...i'm sure others are as well, but if you're anal like me about the warranty, it's worth to look at it...
i have a magnaflow..i love the sound..its a welded on one w/ custom work done. i didnt dyno after i put it on but i did feel a diff in power. and its not ricey @ all.all those other exauhst ppl mentioned are good choices, but i only paid 100 bucks for mine installed...so nothing much beats that...
I know you asked about getting Magnaflow muffler or headers, but I gotta agreee with the guys saying get a TRD exhaust. After having it awhile the TRD gets an excellant low deep rumble. I love how my TRD exhaust sounds while I'm just sitting in traffic idleing. You just can't beat that low, deep rumble - the engine sounds much bigger than it is. I am really looking forward to how my car sounds after I get my DC Header installed.
