I just bought a 01 GT. its completly stock. Im big on tuning, and I realized that headers, exhaust, and Intake simply were not going to get the car were I wanted it. Finding a turbine and intercooler is cake, and the hardest part is deciding which one I want, the tubing can be a pain, but I can handle it. My question to you: Is there a Turbo manifold out there for the VVT-i? if not, does anyone know of a manifold I can use off another engine, or a company that will make a custom?

yeah Ive already talked to XS, they want the car for like 3 weeks and are charging ungodly amounts of money, plus i want the satisfaction of doing it myself. all I need is that manifold, Ive been trying to find a custom fabricating company that will make one for me, but ive had no luck.
as far as why I bought the GT, I wanted a reliable car for everyday driving. when I bought it there was a GTS sitting right next to it, and it was about 6K more and i thought "I can make this GT a hellova lot faster than this gts for 6 large.

you have to have the Turbo first before making the manifold
it has to be fabricated using the Turbo your going to run so if you do plan on buying another maifold w.o getting it fabrictaed by using the Turbo your running make sure to ask what Turbo will fit on the manifold. If your looking to get one custom made im getting my done by dynamic Turbo in maimi, FL in sept./oct. for $450 on a t3 garret.

first off..decide what your goals are..and look at compressor maps to see which Turbos are efficient in the areas in which you want them to be efficient in. if you're looking for good low boost power, the t3 super 60 should do you good.

second..just go to a local shop, or like someone said above, talk to c2gas and he can probably hook you up with a manifold. whatever you do, dont buy the manifold from mwr(turbo Performance manifold). its trash quality..i've heard many stories of it cracking. cast iron manifolds with ceramic coating are the best..but mild steel would do you ok.

third..be ready to dish out some major cash because celicas are known to have weak trannys. a daily driven car at 200-220-ish whp should be OK, but anything substantially higher and you risk breaking something..but it alllll depends on your goals..

Ok, I decided to get the MWR big bore kit and run her NA for a while.
WHY????
With the Big bore kit I can lower the compression a little and still have a decent amount of power. This way when I do put the Turbo on It will be easier to push higher PSI.
I've been looking hard for a Log manifold becuase I'm afraid of bad welds in the tubulars that everyone is selling. my ideal set up right now is a Garrett T3/T4 with internal wastegate, Greddy Emanage, log manifold, custom piping to a Greddy front mount, havent decided on the fuel injectors yet. I wont have time to install until next summer, but I will be compiling the parts.

Tell me what you think of my plan

Any one have some HP/Torque predictions for a 2.0 VVT-i pushing around 12lbs of boost?

yes he will sell it seperatley and its a nice piece at that. I won't go into why you shouldnt do this on your own, but this isnt a honda man, you will end up paying more doing it this way then getting a kit. Im biased towards c2power, and to rebuttle a statment made about them being over seas, means nothing to the customer as shipping isnt bad at all and you still get your package faster than XS or SF currently.
