My check engine light comes on. Only mod I have is K&N stock replacement. Car has 66,000 miles on it. The car drives normal. I would reset the computer and it would take a couple of days of driving before the check engine light reappears. I was wondering if anyone has a OBD2 scantool close to OXNARD CA. so that we can check what the problem is. I really appreciate anybody's HELP. I'm trying to avoid buying a scantool.

toyota charged me 70 bucks to tell me what my check engine light meant, even tho i already knew what it was. they forced me to pay it or they wouldnt release my car back to me. and they didnt even fix it. bastards! dont take it to the dealership unless youre willing to pay. or maybe your car is still under warrenty?

I never planned on going to the dealer. but I got the information on how to reset the computer from them. It's probably something simple. If I'm gonna spend 70 bucks I might as well invest it on a obd2 scantool!

I bought me a scantool setup for my laptop. At the same time I told one of my friends what I did before the check engine light came on. I told him that I had put a fuel injector cleaner additive in my fuel system about a week before. He said toyotas' are known to be sensitive with those additives. He said to keep resetting the computer because it only comes on about every other day and it will eventually clean the slight coating it left on the oxygen sensors. Well, as soon as receive my new gadgets for my laptop the check engine light is too scared to come back on. I'm gonna hold on to my scantool though. It's pretty need to play with. you can actually see real time computer feedback readings from all your sensors! even the RPMs'and speed!

I bet it is the mass air flow sensor. I had the trd air filter and my check engine light came on. I took it to toyota and that is what was wrong. He said that the oil in those kind of filters somtimes messes with that sensor.

www.scantool.com [ scantool.com] you need the "ISO interface package" deal. The software is free to download!
