This may be a pretty stupid question but, I'm just curious if it's bad to install a Cold Air Intake and not modify your stock exhaust to an aftermarket one. Since a lot of tuners usually modify Intake and exhaust at the same time or at some point.
I'm planning on modifying my stock filter to a AEM CAI that's why. Thanks
Beleive it or not.. The Inen CAI sounds GREAT at hiigh RPMS ..WITHOUT an exhaust. Its very deep and roarsssssssss when you open up. Only thing is..that leads to a heavy foot..cause that sound is so sooooo sweet. ENJOY! and if you install it on your own, and you check engine light goes on, no worries my man. just the sensoe..can be EASILY fixed.Just ask one of our many knowledgable members.
I guess if you don't understand cars too well, you could think that a CAI would allow more air to be compressed within the cylinders, and since you have the stock exhaust, there would be no increase in exhaust flow.
I guess he was thinking that if you have more air coming in, and no change in the air coming out, then your engine could blow up or something.
