I've heard of people taking out the butterfly valve. I was just wondering if this is recommended by anyone. They say that the :
Advantages are- a little better acceleration, and a little deeper sounding. Disadvantages are, that it is a little harder to start.
So I was just wondering if this is recommended by anyone. Also, toyota put it in to help with MPG. Does taking it out affect MPG?

its such a small difference, you probably wont notice anything but a slight increase in noise. removing the butterfly valve thing would be a better increase in power if we had forced induction

I JUST DID IT AND THE JURY IS STILL OUT DEFINITELY MORE NOISE AND I THINK ITS A LITTLE MORE RESPONSIVE BUT THAT MAY BE WISHFUL THINKING.

The gain is minimal. May I suggest an intake? The gain is much more noticable. And you can definitely hear it.
BTW, I think this topic belongs to the Mod forum.
Really BAD reality TV is the reason I stopped watching MTV.
