It needs to look good on a stock '04 GTS (without action package) It needs to have somewhat decent gains, or at least keep what the stock one has (ie, not lose power). I want it to be louder than stock, but still be legal (California). And finally, it needs to be a good price for the product (I don't have a lot of extra money to toss around ). So, I was looking through the reviews, and... I like the TRD, but is it worth the price? What about the Kazuma? Is it legal? (I don't mind loud, as long as I don't get a ticket I can't fight .) What about the Apexi N1?

apexi and TRD would be okay as for being legal. Kazuma is NOT legal at all, it way too loud. as far as gains go TRD is best and trailing close is tanabe super racing medalion and RMM exhaust. N1 does look nice though. If you can i'd go with the veilside.(only 7 lbs. and has a straight pipe design, but cost $700)
if i were you i'd go with TRD, not that loud but it growls. it's a two peice muffler and end pipe. you can have someone make another pipe that replaces the muffler and makes a straight pipe.

I'd love to have a $700 exhaust, but I don't have the $700 part TRD vs. TSRM... TSRM is a bit louder (still legal though?) What about power gains, which is better in that department?

I'm sorry to say this but the TSRM look ugly. I hate that nasty tip design.

It needs to have somewhat decent gains, or at least keep what the stock one has (ie, not lose power). How is it possible to lose power with an exhaust?

TPR will have third party independant dyno results of its exhaust vs TRD next week...altho im sure it will be no contest...;)...so you may wanna wait for the direct dyno comparison before judging power

yes, wait for the TPR exhaust results and then check it out.

Ok, so far TRD is lookin' good, but I'm worried about how it might sound. Is it too much like stock? Too tame? I don't want ricey, but I want... Aggressive I will more than likely be waiting until after TPR is out (unless $500 happens to fall into my lap sometime soon ), so I will be sure to check that out. Two more things: Where can I find the cheapest (not Ebay) deals on the exhaust systems. And is there a place that has sound clips of the various systems?
