i was wondering if any one can help me out to chose if i should get headers or not??? i am in australia so i dont have much choice so i will have to get a custom made system. could someone tell me how many horses i will get from a full exhaust system wid headers and also the dimensions for the headers that will best suit my car??

I was at an aftermarket R&D facility and they were designing a header for the RSX type S while I was there. The head designer made 200 different sets of HAND made headers to dyno on the car. Making a header shouldn't be that hard, the only hard part I see would be to find the most beneficial bends. It's all about the bends baby!
With a decent exhaust system, it won't be a suprise to me if you gain 10-20 hp depending on what you get.

check into trial...so far they have the best headder currently out there 840 shipped by air in 4 days.
I dont see why it wouldn't work on the Aussie celicas?
its about 7-10 HP to the wheels from 2K-8400 rpms
Controlled Inertia President 8.831 @ 79.8 mph (best 1/8 new motor 12/02/04) 2.007 (best 60') All motor

Yup, Trial or TRD. A custom setup is hard both financially and time consumption. Someone in NC.org fabricated their own and actually produced worst numbers than our stock header on the dyno. Our stock headers is pretty damn good.

well in australia they have a good name.. with the system on the wrx that they make they guarantee 22kw which is over 25hp to the wheels and with their 200sx with a sr20det motor they make 25kw to the wheels which i think is around about 30hp to the wheels... they got a site www.hitechmufflers.com.au [ hitechmufflers.com.au] i got a cat back system from them and it sounds awesome...
