School is going to begin next Monday, I am still thinking should I drive to school. I bought my Celi half year ago, I took a good care of it, and I didn't drive alot. I lived not far from school, 30 mins walk, 5~10 mins drive. The reason I don't want to drive to school is because I think it's not safe to park at school, I mean my car easy to get scrach if I park at school parking lot. Some people might scrach it or hit it accidently. But if I walk to school, it's dumb because I spend 1 hour walk to school and come back...But I really want to keep my car well...since they don't sell Celi nomore...What you guys suggest? Should I drive or not?

kenny gave a very good plan, just park not in the parking lot but near enough to it. I mean it isnt like a passing motorist couldnt just whipe out and hit out of no where, no matter where it is, something could happen, you never really safe. haha thumbsup

I say drive it man. If you hella worry about it and something happens, you are going to feel more like sh*t.

You cannot avoid dumbass people bumping into your car, is just a way of life.

I went to LA for 1 week, and when I came back, my car had 3 new scratches, one is pretty big in the rear. Looked as if someone parked their car very close to mine.

What sucks is that I parked at a place where it is nearly impossible for one to hit me when parking since there are HELLA spaces behind and in front of me. But still, whoever bumped into me was a super dumbass.

From my own experience, if you drive to school there can be some punks who will vandalize your car.

Some mofos dump yogart on a bunch of peoples car when no ones around. Back then I had a 90 accord so i didnt care much. But then if you dont have beef with anyone you shouldnt worry to much, unless theyre jealous.

What school are you going to? Highschool? All these vandal stuff seems to happen more often in highschool. In college, I havent heard of anything happening yet.

Yeah, in college is cool, but back in high school, there are a few folkers that would do such a thing. Another thing to worry about are ex-girlfriends. I am pretty sure that one of mine was the one that keyed the living crap out of my car.

yea you sound like me. i say walk . good for you, 30 min isnt too bad at all. at least you wont have to worry about something happening to it half as much. jealousy is a bitch especially at schools. i vote walk. if you always take care of ur celi like it sounds like you do now, you should have ur celi for a long time to come. thumbsup

i'd say drive it. life is too short, might as well have fun. if your that worried, buy a car cover and park it as far as possible. that way it's somewhat protected from these haterz.

You need that car cover that makes your car look like a POS like in the Hyundai commercial. thumbsup

I would NEVER leave my car in that parking lot.

I go to community college, there are all kind of people...from young to an old man...elder people are more mature, they should not vandalize people's car.

I really don't suggest you drive your car to HS. I had my car my senior year, and I wouldn't drive it. Kids going to HS drive terrible (for the most part) they are in such a rush not to be late. People were constantly being hit in the parking lot (one girl managed to hit a BMW & Audi during the same morning...there was a lot of screaming going on after that ohboy ) Just catch a ride with a friend that lives near you thumbsup

u got 2 choices, park like you dont give a fuck, everyone is gonna turn their heads and ur gonna get attention, and you possibly get ur car damaged depending if they like u/ur car or not. heres wut my friend did 2 years, park about 10 minutes away from school, on a neighborhood street, and when anyone asks "where you goin?" "home!"

School for me started last Monday. I drove to school last year and I am planing on it all this year too. Sure there is the chance of it getting scratched or hit, but you stand that same chance every thime you take your car anywhere. Mine has only been hit once, while I was in it *shrug* The only otherthing that happens is I get compliments on my Celi smile

Hey! Thanks for advises. I decided to ride a bike to school, because my insurance is only one way, if someone bump my car, I have to pay myself. And those people who hates me at school would do stuff to my car. I lived in CA, do I have to wear helmet when I ride a bike? Whay happened if I do wear it? Get ticket? How much is it? I just don't like to wear that = =

i saw this one fellow on the ground a couple of days ago.. he got hit on his bike.. good thing he had a helmet.. still hurt of course but could have been worse..

and yes you can get a ticket for not wearign a helmet.. but the police don't seem to enforce it.. besides its for your safety... its like wearing a seat belt happywink

I drive to school (even though it's like a 5 minute walk laughsilly )

The librarian (I think that's how it's spelled?) got one of the new bright yellow Rumble Bee trucks just after I got my Celi. We both park about as far back as cars go (ie, we're the last, normally). Everyone parks on the street, as we don't have a parking lot. And since I don't have a driveway that useable (I'd scratch the hell outta my bumper just going up it) or a garage, it'd be parked on the street at home. So I figure I run about the same risk, either way.

And since the school is so small, if anything happened to my car, I'd probably have all the details before I even asked wink

a car doesn't do any good in the garage.

everywhere i go i have to worry 'bout people messing 'round with my ride, but i always take my car. no way in hell would i like to be caught drivin' my girlfriend's car and having people thinkin' it was mine...

the celica is a trophy and needs to be paraded for the public.

if you want your car to be safe...

1. Move out to the middle of the desert somewhere in Nevada
2. Build 3 rings of brick and steel walls around your car
3. Purchase automated defenses: SAMs, RPGs, and twin 50mm Vulcans.

I got my car so I could drive it around. I moved in to ASU and parked as far from everyone as possible, and already in 2 days I had some idiot scratch my car. Like everyone else has said, just park far away if you have to, and park between friends or next to other very nice (and expensive) cars who won't want to hit you.

I love my car very much, and I hate it if it so much as rains on my car, but I just gotta accept the fact that bad stuff can and will happen to my car.

just my 2 cents. Do what you feel is best.

MY parking lot at school sucks. My teachers bet on how many accidents will happen in a day. Usually 2-5. Not big ones but enough to wreck the bumpers or sides. Some idiots don't know how to drive or try peelin out of the dang lot when there definentally is not room for it. My friend bought a brand new F150 and the first day he drove it do school, some idiot girl smashed his side in while his car was parked. Anything could happen but try parking in the far corners or get a bunch of friends to park close together that respect each others cars. If you have respectful people parking next to you, you can worry less about getting hit by doors and their cars can also protect you from other people.
