Okay - I've got some pics of how I painted my antenna. Worked great. If you doubt me - check out the pix. You can do it yourself or I'll offer some for sale already painted, if anybody is interested. The price I sell would depend upon the price I would pay. I'm thinking about $29 shipped. Look at the pix and PM me if you are interested. The first picture shows a spare piece of 2X4 with a hole drilled to stick the antenna in.

Here is the finished product. I walked around the antenna, spraying downwards from each side and actually painted two coats on, although I'll probably paint another one tomorrow. It dries in 15 minutes, but I left it for an hour before picking it up.

This paint did not flake. It is supposed to be fully chip resistant within 7 days, but I'm not going to wait that long. The next two pictures below show me bending the antenna about 7 hours after painting.

This last one shows what it looks like after being bent and straightened back out. Pretty cool, huh? So do it yourself or let me know if you want me to do it for you. I'm gonna find out what colors are available at my Wal-Mart tomorrow.

Sure - I'll post some car pix once it quits raining (no sun in Tallahssee today). I just didn't bother because I got so many negatives the last time I posted pix of my car. But wtf- no skin off my back. As soon as the sun shines again - you'll get pix.

I have seen (at work) plastics painted with that paint (not sure if same brand, but say "plastic") they aren't really durable... with a minimal scratch the paint come out... I was thinking to use that for my engine plastics...

I tried using my thumbnail to scratch it and didn't see any problem. There is another brand out there I thought I might try - it might not work the same. I'll let you know if I do.

Is there one that matches the Celica silver? I'll take a look and try silver if they have one. Anybody know or have an opinion as to the most popular celica colors?

lol uhh lets see...blue black red silver white..and occasionally yellow but i think it would be hard to match the celica colors i mean yay for white and black (which it already is so why paint it LOL) but youd have a hard time matching the other colors imo looks good in white though!

Yeah, white is prolly the best one for it to be painted. Not sure how silver is going to look.

it wouldnt matter if the silver matches or not. the antenna is not big stuff. as long as the silver you painting is lighter than the celica silver, it will look just rite.
where can i buy this stuff online? just for reference.
ill go check out wal-mart (im in canada) tom.

Check out my sig.. Mine is dipped in rubber coating... It's a layer rubber.. had them for almost 2 years. no problem at all.. I guess if your paint passed the bending test.. it should be ok... follow up on reliability few months later...

let's see it on your car. I've painted a white antenna and a blue one now. I've ordered some more antennae and will be painting one red. Since the 2005 is available in yellow, I might do one of those. I've already heard the comments about my white wing on blue car, but I'm working a plan here that suits me so far. Here's a picture now of my white antenna on my spectra blue celi.

You must like white, just like me!...Why don't you paint your whole car super white! Nope - not into pure white. Someday I'll go back to blue or do something entirely different. I had an S-Runner that was all red - no chrome or any other color. But this time - I dunno - I decided to mix it up.
