What Brand Hood Pins Should I Buy?
By Isaac DeCoursey @ EverythingCelica.com

Hood pins are hood pins - They are all basically the same design, only with different company names printed on them - oh, and the price is quite different too.

When it comes to modding your car, hood pins are probably one of the only parts where it doesnt matter who makes them, they are all going to be very similar products and perform basically the same way once finally installed.

The EverythingCelica store sells hood pins - but rather than putting on the Sparco that we have here, I opted for MOMO because they were less expensive for me, and I could get them in powder-coated red. (For those wondering what Everything Celica doesnt also sell MOMO brand... our supplier sells Sparco and one other brand. MOMO, I had to special order from some place else.)

I held the MOMO and SPARCO hood pins next to each other - and there was no way I would have been able to tell the difference if they had both been silver they were identical in appearance!

So when buying hood pins, shop for the exact look that you want and at the price you are willing to pay for them. There is no need to buy these used, when you can by them brand new for only a couple dollars more.

The average price range most speed-shops sell hood pins for is between $20 to $35 (set of two hoodpins), depending on the brand name printed on them.

Also available are hood locks, which are basically the same thing as hood pins, except they have a locking mechanism. The average price range of these is between $35 and $50 (set of two hood locks)

Its a BRS hood. It was discontinued November 2003. Less than 30 were ever made.
If you can find a genuine BRS Hood now, it will have been 'used'. You may be able to find a replica/knock-off version of it, but the fitment and quality compared to Genuine, is questionable.
