There seem to be a plethora of CAI on ebay for like 40$ as compared to the 180$ AEM and INJEN ones, just wondering if there's some massive difference between the real deal and the knockoffs... i know the material is different, but is there any real risks in buying ones like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7917696567&category=38634

Yeah the risk is your not gonna pass CARB and will probably have to remove it for smog tests. Stick to the real brands, if you prefer a cheaper price, do your homework and look for cheap, but name-brand Intakes. At least they will install fine and actually come with instructions.

Just check if it has all the same attachments for hoses & your MAF. If it does, it won't make any difference to emmissions.

an Intake is an Intake. i've an ebay Intake before, it's not that much difference with my current injen. sure the material is bit different, but it served its needs. however, general rule of thumb is "you get what you paid for."

if you wanna go cheap just to have one then go cheap. or you can check around and see what has shown the best gains. right now those TPR guys have the best dynos. they are not carb legal though. but the ebay ones aernt for the most part either so who cares lol

Pick two. I don't know if that always applies, but I like that.
