i know what you mean .. and i've done reasearch and junk on hids.. and blah..blah.. just putting in a hid bulb in our stock as you know we dont get the nice pretty purple and Performance... well after i do my fog light hid 6000k/yellow capsule retrofit thing.. i'm going to attempt my moms 95 camry with a custom retrofit of audi projectors.. then finally i'm going to attempt it on the celica... don't you have hid's already Jason well in any case what i recommend and am doing for when i get to mine is.. use ECE valeo h7 projectors.. you can still get the nice purple cuttoff.. or you could get the D2S valeo projectors as well but its $100 more typicall s2000 projectors have one of the niceest outputs but i'm not certain it would fit. economy wise i recommend ece valeo h7 projectors for the retrofit.. doing a retrofit is the only true way to get hid Performance that or getting an OEM celica headlamp..which i did for comparison o and i think you've seen this already so for anyone else... also forgot to note just aiming it down you'd still have "UFO"'s check link above..coming from the stock projectors unless you filled up the holes (jb weld ) but yes if you get h7 valeos then you can take a stock h7 bulb and take the base and mod it to fit into a standard d2s hid bulb... if you get a d2s projector then heck you have nothing to worry about

anything over 4300k IMO .. if you want to get the best light.. stay in the 4100 - 4300 range.. you get the right projector you'll get the purple junk.. and nice cut off with the ece projectors you'll get even more purple twinkle typically hella ballast are the best..philps bulbs.. just get any OEM set of a ballast and bulbs and that should suffice.. the valeos i got from ebay.. theres a seller there who is trustworthy.. and pretty freqent on hidforum.com so i'll pm you his email if you want i bought from him already off ebay.. and so has my friend.. he packs it good... but i'm going to first install these on my mom's to make sure it really does have that nice purple... but i think it would as the people on hidforum have said its nearly identical to a d2s size housing.. do your reasearch before jumping into all this though.. i searched hid forum and i couldn't find anyone else who has done a retrofit for the celica.. except this one company did but said they wouldn't do it again cause its too hard well i'll take a stab at it if i'm successful with my moms during the winter.. maybe i'll get to the celi in the spring

well for retro fitting... TSX projector's and s4 projectors are known to be the best output/performance.

got to make sure they fit too .. some people buy bi-xeon projectors and ends up being too big for the housing .. i wonder what brand the TSX are though. actually i believe the s4 projectors are Valeo's..

with the ECE h7 projectors you should get some good twinkle affect since its euro spec you know its a flat line but then you get that slant at the side s2ooo projectors are hard to come by but do cost an arm and a leg.. i'm just not sure it would fit in the celica housing

I had HID in mine and I know retrofitting is the best way to get Performance... and my friend's performing the retrofitting on the accord right now... he is putting in TSX...
anywayz... I just felt like putting on some picture of the HID and celica's projector lowered to the maximum point it could possibly go... so yep... here it is...

^^^nice u are rite about the maximum point of the celica projectors. basically the HID kit just shines up to where the regular bulbs' light beam will go. that's why i took off mine. i want a REAL one lol~

yah for more info, advice, recommendtations... [ hidforum.com] Ken I could have sworn i've seen your headlamps before one hidforum When i finish mine I'll try to make an install guide if everything turns out good Jason I pm'ed you his address ...and nice thing with the h7 is you can go back to a bulb any time.. with a d2s you can't just stick a regular bulb in there it won't work right ..only thing with the h7 is you'd have to either make or buy and adaptor ring..
