The wife and I are looking to get another car not 100% sure on which way to go. Another Celica GT or even a GTS (used), RSX (used), Scion TC (new), or I don't know what.
Chime in guys, post em up.

are you looking for gas mileage? utility? sporty? sedan? coupe? daily driver? if you've already got a celica, then go for something different. get an A-spec RSX-S. i almost wish i had gotten one of those, cause they look great. a scion tC has the utility and gas mileage, with respectable sport and good comfort, but again it all depends on what qualities you are looking for.

The Corolla S IS pretty cool, has the GTS drivetrain. The Scion doesn't satisfy me; the mileage isn't really as good as a Celica or Corolla (it weighs a lot more; its really a Solara in disguise). I think the RSX is also a great choice. Civic is good too, but I'm not as jazzed about Honda as I am with Toyota or Acura.

so, your married... accidents do happen... Id look into a mini van. thats if you get my drift I'd look into a sense of humor, if you get my drift No kids in the near future. To the posts that are on topic, I'm leaning tword the TC as well. We are looking for something fun and stylish but gets great gas and is very well made. I don't know shit about Mazda other than I like the look of the 6.

hey rob, who is it for? the wife? get anything but toyota, brian got me realize toyota really sucks... GTS's suck, GT's rule. Brian wants more from the car than it was made to do, IMO. I told him he is pushing it to hard, at least thats what I think. Two GT's and never had a problem. The car is for her.

If your wife isn't looking for speed, but rather reliability, I'd look at a Civic, or Accord Coupe.
Regardless of what half of the tards on this site may tell you, Hondas are very reliable.

Are you looking into a New car? If it's gonna be new, get the RSX-S. If you're looking for a slightly used car, find a WRX. AWD is better than FWD.

yeah, that's why i left you behind back on capital beltway from the D&B met... just messing w/ya...brian pushes GTS too hard? no, are you serious? alright, since your wife only drives auto, i say base 5speed auto RSX, or mazda 3. mazda 3 is actually pretty nice, tiptronic, fully equip less than $20K sticker price. or a 4cyl. accord...anything but toyota...

as long its a toyota or scion if you want reliability get a toyota, my car is proof- 2000 gt with 232,000 miles same engine, change the clutch three times, alternator one at around 220,000 so get a toyota brand, my opinion oh, and always check the newspaper for deals, you can get a camry with power windows and locks for like $13,999

You will totally be suprised by the Mazda. I looked into it, as it originally was on my list... For one, Mazda dealers usually rank pretty poorly. Poor customer service, etc etc. Also, I was looking at the more upscale "s" model. That plus an auto transmission(cheaper than manual) and a few basic options stickered me at 21 large. You can stay under 20 with the base model, but not the better 2.3L engine.

im not a fan of the mazda reliability, i'd go with the tC for ur wife because it offers a lot of options for a lil amount of money... 18g's can get you pretty far, and its got a good amount of torque... otherwise go for an accord not the civics
another honda kill story is always welcome

Acura RSX type-s Can't go wrong there. his wife can't drive manual... Jack when did I every say that? Just because her current car is a auto means jack shit. I've bought both in my life and so has she. She drives a stick with the same skill as me. We both want her to get a stick this time around. RSX and the TC have been our front runners and seem like most of you see it the same way.

Scion Tc just came out, and who knows how good the reliability it has. Plus, after I have experienced with Toyota dealerships' customer service and the quality of my Celica GT, I will never get a Toyota again. Engine is pretty strong, but other things... I dont know about Acura RSX type-s, but if i were you, i will give it a try.

I agree that there could be issues with buying the first model year of a new car. Then again my 2000 GT was the first year of a new car and I never had a problem with it. Not even the belt BS that I have with my 2003.

^^^ CT, I have read about those issues as well, don't really worry me because they all seem to show up early and would get fixed under the warrenty.
