hey guys im planning to up a GTS soon.. I had a gt in 2002 sold it to get a civic for cheaper payments...haha now that im getting help with financial aid (college) it seems now i have extra money to get a celica again. SO I sold the civic hatchback (it was nice while it lasted) and am looking at GTS' but i got a couple questions. So any help would be very much appriciated..

1. With a GTS your suppost to use premium gas correct? What would happen if i used regular unleaded?

2. Is there any differences with the different years 00-04 GTS besides cosmetic? I've read somethings, but would like to know as much as i can.

3. Also I'm planning to get a used one...any tips on what to look for?

the gt is better for Turbo because it has lower cylinder compression. with e gts you have to disable the lift and get lower compression pistons...DOH other than that i dont know... i have a gt i wanted a gts until i found out that Turbo thing! LOL

i heard that it was easier to Turbo a gt, but this one will be used more as a daily driver than a race car...thanks for the input!

ok well cosmetically (except for the body kit) they are the same car...ok and different wheels too but internally the gts has a vvtl-i which means it has "lift" im supposeing its sortof like a Turbo spooling but not as severe? like i said i dont have a gts and have never ridden in one LOL they also have a 6 speed tranny which helps on gas if youre driving it fast all the time. usually you dont even have to use it (thats what kenny_celi says) so i suppose its up to you..if you want a daily driver that is 10g's more than a gt just because of the body kit and lift and tranny then i say go for it but if youre not going to race it then why bother? go for the gt!! thumbsup

i think the redline is different for gts of different year. use premium gas because i think if you dont u'll fuck up your engine and if your getting a used car, check the mileage and the engine. test drive it. because the body might look fine but the engine might be messed up. and see if you can get warranty. it might not be much help because i've heard toyota dealerships are assholes
